Tara's death had me snot sobbing at the T.V.
Fred becoming Illyria.

Regarding those you mentioned: I'm indifferent to that episode Nothing about Xander is good. As mentioned in another thread, they went NWO with all the slayers. That said, that mass awakening wasn't bad. Tara should not have died. There was no point to that at all. The Illyria character wasn't bad, but I missed Fred. Would've been better if they shared the body like Hulk/Bruce Banner What I said about Xander? The opposite goes for Wesley.

I'm talking about the moment she actually does it. To me that signified her not being afraid of magic anymore and her getting of the damage that becoming Dark Willow did to her. I'm not the biggest Xander fan but he had his moments. Killing Tara sucked ass but it still made me cry. Yeah, Fred sharing her body with Illyria would have be better.

I love this scene. Lilah having her heartless bitch act turned right around on her and the little pause at the end that gives away that Wes' casual dismissal of her actually stung was brilliantly played. Much as I loved the Wes/Fred relationship, Wes/Lilah was so much more interesting. The Illyria character wasn't bad, but I missed Fred. Would've been better if they shared the body like Hulk/Bruce Banner Agreed. And the whole "Fred's soul was consumed, making it impossible for her enjoy an afterlife" deal was just unnecessarily spiteful, and really felt like the point where the Whedon "nobody who is in love gets a happy ending" trope jumped the shark.

Yup. That killed it. There was no reason for Fred to die and as much as like I've said I love Illyria. Killing Fred's soul and the Angel crew having to deal with her being there but not being there was cruel as f***. A Hulk/Bruce situation would have made for better televison.

Based on interviews with members of the writing team the plan was for a Hulk/Banner type situation had Season 6 happened, of which a little happened in the After the Fall comic series, and {Spoiler}they've now resurrected Fred anyway in the comics but f*** Whedon for screwing up them getting Season 6.

When I found out the reason Angel was cancelled I was sooooo pissed off. By season five Angel was on par with Buffy at it's best and that's me saying that as a person who was completely apathetic toward Angel getting his own show at first.

Xander's bluff in the Zeppo is tremendous; with that whole episode arguably being the best one the character ever had.
From a performance perspective, James Marsters in the last several minutes of "Beneath Me" is some of the best acting the show ever had.
In terms of sheer heel moments, Angelus's murder of Jenny Calendar and subsequent mock use of her body to torment Giles might have been the absolute peak of that character.

Spike's speech to Buffy before the Glory fight about "Knowing she'll never love him" and how he's a monster was such a cool speech.
Cordelia saying "You're Welcome"
Spike beating Angel down with a cross (I'm a Spike fan Sue me lol)

In terms of making me sob giant man tears, "The Body" pretty much nails it, especially when Buffy imagines Joyce reviving and it snaps back to the paramedics failing to save her. God, few episodes of TV have delivered that big of a gut punch.

While I did enjoy Buffy, Angel was always the better show as it was a lot more darker, serious, and emotional with the characters. My favorite Angel moment involves, well, one of them involves Wesley returning to the team to help battle The Beast. After they managed to translate the symbol of the Beast calling it "The Eye of Fire", you have the team putting together a plan, whereas Angel begins to gather weapons, and he tosses a crossbow to Wesley.
It was a powerful moment seeing as the friendship between Wesley and Angel was still estranged/tense at best. But he tosses him the crossbow, Wesley catches it, and he just has this "I am ready to kick some ass look" and Angel says "You ready?". Angel used to be a family event at my house and when that scene happened my dad says "Uh oh, oh shit!"
Another one is when Faith and Wesley are fighting Angelus. Angelus knocks Wesley down and takes his shotgun and exclaims "UH OH! VAMPIRE WITH A GUN!"

Fool for love in season 5 of Buffy (explaining Spikes backstory) was aired on the same night as the season two episode of Angel which did the same for Darla a nice bit of continuity that filled in the gaps of the origins of Angelus' gang.

Favorite moments from the Buffyverse?
- Graduation Day, that final fight was great. Buffy yelling out "NOW!" and everybody taking their gowns off to reveal weapons was awesome.
- Rocket launcher, both times. The first time was for a fantastic episode, the second time was for a bad episode that had a good final 10 minutes.
- The Faith arc on Angel.
- Angel revealing his plan for the Black Thorn.
- Angel and company in the alley ready to take on the army of demons.
- Holland and Angel in the elevator to the home office in "Reprise". It's laid out right there, you can' destroy the Senior Partners, because they'll always be around.
- That leads me to another one, the Senior Partners. On Buffy, supposedly the most powerful villain she faced was The First, on Angel there were the Senior Partners. But Angel actually built up the Senior Partners, we saw a physical manifestation of them one time, but they were always a threat. They could have crushed Angel and company like a bug if they wanted to, but they never did. The First never showed anything like that, and it couldn't touch anybody. Also, the Senior Partners had a legit known apocalypse, they wanted the complete and total corruption of humanity. Their apocalypse was slow moving, and really they were the ones who stomped The First. Basically all The First had going for it, was that it was first.

Wesley slow progression from loser to badass was perfectly done. One of televisions best and most interesting character arcs.
Giles' badass return to fight Willow.
That episode where we find how Spike killed the other two slayers.
Andrew was awesome.
Hush
Whenever Ethan Rayne showed up.

God, few episodes of TV have delivered that big of a gut punch. There is also the fact that this episode had even more quiet time in it than "Hush" did. Sure, there was more dialogue but the were many stone silent moments without even any backing track playing in the background. It played up beautifully as stunned silence even on the part of the show itself.

Smile Time was a nice homage to Joss' father Tom, who had worked in Children's TV and was the co-creator of The Electric Company.
