18 Main Events, which is the best?
For me it's Vader VS Flair!

Quality? Probably Vader vs Flair.
Impact? Hogan and Sting.

Man, look at that. In WCW's prime, they had 3 main events at their biggest shows that were all pretty terrible. Piper/Hogan was a total bait and switch and their matches always made the mid-90's feel like the early-80's in ring. Then the Sting/Hogan debacle which was arguably the worst big main event ever. And then the best of the 3 was Nash/Goldberg, which a lot of people (if not the majority) hated and say killed the aura of the last guy drawing the company money.
I was a WCW fan who kept up with WWF, but man were they polar opposites in their ability to pull off big shows. WWF usually left fans going home happy, where as WCW just kept blowing big builds with terrible matches, terrible layouts, and terrible booking.

For me, you can't top the original.

Yea Piper/Hogan is a def bait and switch. The match tho, I actually like it... looking back now. As a kid, I was a Hogan fan, and I hated that now that he was a "bad guy" he was losing to guys so easily now.

The promo "Hard Times" led to Starrcade 85.
That one got my vote.

One that I know won't get alot of praise, but I like, is Hogan/Butcher. The problem I have, is it shouldn't have been the StarrCade ME. I think if this match happened at a COTC and Hogan faced Flair here at Sc, then it'd be ok.

Yeah, the bait-and-switch sucks, but we didn't really know that it wasn't for the belt until after the bell rang and it didn't go around Piper's waist. The build was great, and it's probably the last great Piper match.

With the ref being absolutely shocked that Hogan passed out? Brillant!

I picked 1996 also.
1993 was my second choice.

Flair and Vader. They built up to it nicely and the match itself told a great story.

Flair/Vader with Flair/Race as a close second. Both had excellent builds and told great stories in-ring.
