For me, the Sonic franchise can do no wrong. Especially not the US Sonic and Freedom Fighter stories. Sonic and Sally trying to save their friends from roboticization automatically cancel out Sonic 2006 and Rise of Lyric.
Also Street Fighter, in spite of questionable launches and constant rehashing. The gameplay, designs and the music always wind up overriding Capcom's poor choices for me in the end.

Street Fighter is one of the few game franchises that still interest me (mainly since my interest in gaming isn't as high as it used to be) so I'd totally be buying SFV if I ever get a PS4, or a strong enough PC. Also, the 47th rehash of SFII interests me too.

I have also stuck with Sonic through thick & thin. For me it's all about "Sonic the Comic" published by Fleetway here in the UK. Nigel Kitching and Richard Elson is first writer/artist pairing I remember being into as a kid. Their stories and ways they wove adapting the games of the time into their own continuity just really grabbed me. They even made the AOStH design of Robotnik threatening!
I'm willing to gloss over the Sonic Boom debacle as Generations was the last "Sonic Team" game and showed signs of getting back on track. I like the Classic/Modern gamneplays are pretty much going to be the spine of whatever it is they're planning later this year. And also Sonic Mania looks exactly like what Sonic 4 should have been.
Power Rangers has not been good since RPM. I still take an interest when I see what they're doing next.

I'm still a relative newbie to the franchise, but even though what I've seen of (Modern) Doctor Who is hit and miss, the wealth of EU material, especially the Big Finish audio plays has me hooked on its universe itself for the foreseeable future.

Spyro. All three of the games. Shame they never made more.

The Saw films
I am honestly convinced that the vast majority of people who dismiss the franchise as "torture porn" (by the way guys, all using that catchphrase accomplishes is making you come off as a pedantic twat) haven't seen any of the movies. Now I'm not gonna argue that some of the movies aren't bad - in fact, the sequels as a whole, even the few good ones, really feel highly unnecessary - but the original remains a masterpiece in my opinion and it's still a decent franchise overall and one of the few that has had a continuous storyline and really tried to add to its lore with each movie instead of just taking unrelated scripts and adding some references to the villain.
Granted, it's not always done well but it's nice to see a horror franchise actually put some effort into its story. And frankly, even with the later films devolving into more and more of a gore show, I'll take that over an hour and a half of jump scares because at least the prospect of dying gruesomely IS scary, unlike loud noises, which are just annoying.
And yeah, the original was brilliant and a great example of how horror characters should be written: give them some flaws to attract the ire of the killer but keep them good people overall so we still care about and identify with them and actually get scared for them when they're in danger. And even with the franchise losing its way and becoming more and more about punishing assholes rather than good people being unfairly punished by a maniac who thinks he's helping, it still remained one of the better horror franchises out there in my opinion.
And speaking of Jigsaw, he was a fantastic villain and again, a great example of how to do it right: give him a believable motive but have him still be, you know, a villain by making sure the heroes DON'T deserve what he's doing to them.
And yeah, I am interested about what they'll do with it if they do reboot it as is apparently planned. I just hope they remember to make us root for the main characters instead of making it "mwahaha! Let's torture some Nazis!".

This I think nuWho is garbage but the EU stuff is brilliant (Comics, Big Finish)

Star Wars. Some people hate the prequels, some people hate Force Awakens, whatever. It's Star Wars and I love it despite its flaws.

Definitely Sonic. I never understood why Sonic 06 being bad doomed the Sonic franchise into being terrible. Yeah, it's an awful game, but they bounced back with Unleashed (the daytime part), Colors, and Generations. I kind of liked Lost World, too.

I have loved every single mainline Resident Evil game and 6 was one of my favorites in the series. It was probably the most fun I've ever had playing a game with someone else. I don't even want to be friends with someone who insists 6 sucked.

Add another to the Sonic franchise. Also Crash Bandicoot. Basically I just want platformers than just Mario/Nintendo.

The increasingly convoluted nature of the sequels just killed the franchise for me. But I won't deny the brilliance of the first one, or the surprisingly good 2nd and 3rd.

Star Wars. Some people hate the prequels, some people hate Force Awakens, whatever. It's Star Wars and I love it despite its flaws. Probably the same. And when I played video games, probably the Smackdown Series. It didn't get really good till HCTP. Then it started sucking again, somehow.

Assassin's Creed. While Unity wasn't particularly good, and the first game hasn't aged well, I've really enjoyed every other instalment.
Call of Duty - ditto.

MLP I suppose, No matter how much slack the show or it's fans get. I make no apology what so ever for being a fan and nearly 7 years later I'm still a big fan.
Count me in for Street Fighter as well, Whilst their ways of doing things have definitely been questionable, I just can't get myself to hate the franchise. I do wish 5 had come to X Box One though.

The psychology of most of these is so good and absorbing I can totally look past the gore.

I still love the Simpsons. It's not as good as it was for sure, but it's still funnier than 80% of the rest of tv.
