I don't remember why I thik this, and it may very well be an interview with Nash himself or I made it up, but I'm pretty sure someone said they got the Too Sweet hand sign from the Turkish Mafia or some Turkish political party (Grey Wolves) who have been using ths hand sign for decades.

They got Yujiro as a member. Close enough. You could always expect Bad News to get a Yujiro shot in. In fairness, his only worth is the woman and we don't even need him for that Yujiro is a broke ass sneaker pimp. We need to stop calling people "The Jannetty" because Marty actually had won titles post split. It shall be now called "The Yujiro". When your partner goes on to greatness while you're only spared from being the lamest and most worthless dude in a stable because Bone Soldier is a member.

Yujiro's not even the worst member. Even Kenny Omega has mocked how bad Bone Soldier is

At what point does something cross the line from tribute act to a shitty copy? Is it when they add Virgil? I'm going to pretend it's when they add Virgil. Jeff Jarrett and CODY are the Virgils of the group At least Yujiro brings ladies to the ring, so he isn't that useless

By that I mean American Nightmare CODY, not the lamer TNA version.

Hell, Virgil's one benefit when his life seems too pathetic to function is he can look at himself in the mirror, say "At least I'm not Bone Soldier", and get the strength to go to the next place he signs autographs. Yujiro fits more under the Buff Bagwell of the group- a firm "He dresses himself up with women, with aura, with everything he can think of to pretend he's important...but no, he's a lame, he's the last person to realize he's a lame, and the pageantry just makes him more pathetic as a result."

So, the Bullet Club and the "too sweet" gesture, that little hand thing that kind of looks like a duck bill. What's that about, who started it and why is there a long list of people doing it? Wait, you'd never seen the "Wolf" hand gesture before?

Ugh. Bone Soldier is the worst. Make him Captain New Japan again and fire him into the sun. And I agree, Yujiro is the Buff Bagwell. Fale is sorta the Flash Norton.

Because the fanbase of New Japan have politely agreed to ignore that Bullet Club is literally the NWO and so as a result, they keep doing all the NWO's signature spots (like the "too sweet" gesture that was blatantly stolen from the Kliq's hand signal.) The Bullet Club began as a satire of the nWo/DX until it just became a full-on tribute act. At what point does something cross the line from tribute act to a shitty copy? The Bullet Club doing DX/NWO shtick definitely felt like parody. It seemed like they were doing it very tongue in cheek, saying 'Suck it!', doing crotch chops, doing the too sweet thing to each other. Today it seems less like parody and just continuing to do what they've always done. None of these are quite right. Bullet Club is NOT a satire/parody/goofum/etc. I'll try to keep this brief. The Bullet Club started in New Japan in 2013 with Prince Devitt (Finn Balor), Karl Anderson, Tama Tonga and Bad Luck Fale as a stable of foreigners. Soon they were joined by Luke Gallows and The Young Bucks. All foreigners, got it? This is important to know because, while "villainous foreigner" had been a staple character-type in New Japan for decades, there still was a certain adherence to the Japanese traditions and styles of wrestling. What makes the Bullet Club different is that their invastion/hostile takeover was the first time foreigners were using a very specifically western form of wrestling within the New Japan context. Their rulebreaking/interference was distinctly North American, and with WWE still the biggest promotion in Japan, what made this angle so hot is that you had traditional Japanese wrestling vs. traditional American wrestling. The Bullet Club adopting "Too Sweet"/"Suck It" and the various 90s wrasslin'-isms is to make the contrast as stark as possible. The addition of AJ Style in 2014 just made them run all the way with it. While that original intent gets somewhat diluted in places like WWE/TNA where the cornerstones are the norm, "The Club" have embraced it to basically say they have so little respect for anyone's traditions that they're just taking it anyway. Cody using it in TNA and The Bucks/Omega/Cody using it still in New Japan is to continue their subtle nods that their "Club" runs the wrestling world.

I was really just responding to all the posts that had mentioned the DX/NWO parody comments to say that the actual catchphrases and hand signals did seem like parody. I wasn't necessarily saying that the group was formed specifically for that purpose.

I also want to throw out there that the actual had gesture: Is American Sign Language for Llama. And to "Too Sweet" somebody is American Sign Language for Llamas Kissing. Which, while not any group's original intent, does make sense as if you've ever seen llamas kiss, it's too sweet.

We're debating Virgils and nobody's brought up Chase Owens yet? Seriously, Omega made this big spiel about cleaning up everyone including the NWA guys, then takes control and personally brings in one of those very same NWA guys. Made no sense at all.

A lot of people miss that the "DX ripoff" and "NWO ripoff" stuff is a gimmick to get heel heat. At first, they refused to admit that they knew what those factions were.

It's a wolf. The hand gesture was started by Hall, Nash, and X-PAC, who were the original Wolfpac. A funny tidbit, Bruce Prichard credits Bret Hart with originating the wolf hand gesture among the boys backstage in WWF, which X-Pac adopted. I find that rather poetic.

To add to this, I wonder there is record of anyone doing this before Bret (allegedly) and the Kliq in wrestling? Closest I can think is Jimmy Snuka's "I love you" signs?
