Just completed RE7, so I'm in an RE mood. 1: Just not knowing what's in the coffin. I actually didn't complete it, so I'm not sure if I ever found out. The dogs jumping through the window. 2: When you see the Licker walk across the window or just the Licker in general. 4: The insects in the sewer and the Regenerators. 7: {Spoiler}Whenever Jack was chasing you.
The part where you have to get the arm, and then the music picks up, and then you turn around and see Evelyn's legs in the hole in the wall. The whole part was scary, to be honest.

I still remember when I had a friend around and I was playing Resident Evil 2.
I was playing it for the first time and he had already played it before so he knew what was coming where as I didn't.
Playing as Leon and running down that corridor to get back to the main hall only for Zombie Arms to punch through the window and grab me which made me jump and shout.. He of course found it amusing.
Few seconds later it happens again which gets me again, and he can't stop laughing.
What a git.
but yeah that's my scary moment from the Resi games.

I know its not a holy s*** scare like of stuff in the series, but Chief Irons always freaked me out in replays of RE2.
I think he stands out to me because there's no biological or occult thing that explains what a f***ed up person he is. No t-virus or plague, no genetic alteration or infection by some weird monster. Just a murderer and rapist who sits back and watches Raccoon City get destroyed.

In Resident Evil the movie the moment when the zombie dogs attack and I realized, "This movie sucks so bad it's scary."
Real answer: when the zombie dogs forst appear in Resident Evil the game. That was a good jump scare.

Dogs. They were the first enemy to kill me in my RE life, and I had a nightmare they killed me after that. I've been scared of them ever since.

1: When you return to the mansion and a first person cutscene plays showing something charging towards you. Usually followed by said thing decapitating me because I used my shotgun shells making sure those spiders were dead.
2: The zombies appearing in a loading screen. IT SHOULDN'T WORK THAT WAY CAPCOM.
3. Just...everything about Nemesis.

The scene with the two way mirror gets me every time This definitely caught me off guard. I remember playing that particular moment with Leon and thinking I was in a safe spot. Had the volume turned up pretty high, was in the zone, and the next thing I know that damn Licker jumps through the mirror. Scared the living piss out of me and I unloaded on it with my last two shotgun rounds, and managed to kill it with the handgun. If my memory serves me right I still kept shooting at the dead corpse because it scared me that bad. Being locked in the cage with a Garrador isn't fun either.

Assuming my mom dropped something I paused the game, walk to the kitchen, and see that she was just cooking and didn't drop anything. I didn't think much about it and just thought that maybe I was hearing things. Man, was I wrong when Nemesis jumps through the glass armed with a rocket launcher! First glimpse my reaction was O.O!!!!! and I said "Oh screw this!!" I would do everything in my power to avoid Nemesis and still do when playing the game for old times sake.

If you're talking about the the coffin in the gamecube remake...then yeah. What comes out of it makes the game a lot scarier from that point on.

Mr. X busting through the wall aprox. 30s after you just put him down in RE2 was a good one.

Scrolling through this thread, I was trying to think back to what scared me the most, and I completely forgot about these things. God they were terrifying.

There's a really good scare in RE4. It's when you first go down to the Novistadore area in the castle. You run down a corridor and then in the background you hear the sound of something opening and something running towards you at a great speed. There's nothing there immediately but it scared the shit out of me.
