Depends on what your looking for. If you're into beaches, clubs and women then Miami's for you. Personally that's not my scene and I would prefer spending several days exploring the Disney parks in Orlando.

I've never been to Miami, but I liked Orlando, the few times I've been there.

It's only a four hour drive between to the two. Zoo Miami is one of the best zoos I've been to in the country, it's huge and in a big giant circle so you can ride these peddle golf carts around it. Orlando has the theme parks and all that, though I prefer the more cheesy attractions like Gator Land then Disney or Universal.

I'd say Orlando just because of Disney and Universal Studios.

If you like amusement parks and all that entails, then Orlando. If you want anything else, then Miami.
That's not to say that there aren't other things you can do in Orlando, but there's not really anything unique to Orlando apart from the amusement parks.

I'd probably just go to Destin and hit the beach. Less crowded/expensive than Miami or Orlando.

Orlando is the go to place if you're trying to hit up theme parks. If it's about the beaches, clubs, and casinos, Miami is the go-to place in Florida. For sightseeing and trying out local delicacies I'd also give Miami the edge there. |

Just did the Miami marathon yesterday. Bring extra money to blow there, especially going around South Beach. Rentals cars are cheap, but the traffic in daylight hours are a pain. As aforementioned, lots more adulty stuff to do in Miami...as Orlando is more family oriented. Also not mentioned for Miami, do an airboat ride, tour Coral Castle, eat Alligator (or dolphin), and go see their sports teams. The hockey team in Sunrise is cheaper than the local AHL team in PA.

TRAVEL TIP: Regardless which of those two you choose, PLEASE bring your own sunglasses. Tourist spots selling sunglasses are a breeding ground for pink eye.
