Are Clerics just shit in DS 2 or am I doing something wrong?
I am absolutely brand new to these games. I bought 2 cheap a while back and am just now really trying to get into it.
When I was first learning the game, I used a knight and just kept him physically balanced and eventually hit a groove (after many, many, MANY deaths) to where I was progressing through the game at a decent clip but began to hate my boring, generalist character. So I started over.
What I wanted was to be like the ultimate holyman. Have all the miracles. Be about faith. Try to approach it that way. I knew he'd suck in a fight, but I think I get the get the mechanics of the game well enough to try. So I do.
I am immediately noticing that his attack miracles are doing joke damage and he gets almost no casts of them. Why? Every soul point I've put into him was to make this his sole value. Does this not work? Does it just take a frustrating amount of time to make it work? What is going on here?

Now, I will preface this by saying that I have never played a Dark Souls game. I am fine with not getting good. But if I remember correctly, a lot of the offensive Faith miracles got their damage pretty drastically nerfed in one patch. And I only remember this because the nerf occurred right around the time that Pat and Woolie were doing their playthrough of DS2, with the intention of going heavy on the Faith.
