I actually don't want to type down the exact phrase I shouted when I read the thread title, but it was referring to Martin, and it was frequently chanted by ECW crowds at rotund wrestlers.

Winds of Winter won't be released until 2018. A Dream of Spring won't be released until 2028.

I'm at the point where I just don't care anymore. The show will probably finish before the books. I doubt I read the rest of them because, A) My interest level has died a death and B) I just want to not buy them as a "f*** you!" to him, like it means anything...
...Having said all of that, I'll end up buying it like a f***ing sucker.

Pretty much. I piss and moan and piss and moan, but at the end of the day, I'll buy the shit, hook line and sinker.

I actually do think the show ending in 2018 will hurt his future book sales as without the TV show, he will loose relevance.
He should have finished the series 15 years ago.

Same old shit is what I groaned when I read it was not WoW. Dedicated fans keep saying be patient but that that shit is so far gone at this point. I guess HBO was smart to ask him for the ending in case he passed away, which bring up a point of how much is creative freedom from HBO in regards to ending and how much is it truly from George

That's not even a f***ing book, it's a short story in an anthology. Way misleading on the title.

I can be patient for Berserk, or I can be patient for GoT, and Berserk is the easy choice for me. I care more about Guts than I do anyone in GoT.

Meanwhile, Jim Butcher puts out a new Dresden Files book about once a year, along with his short stories. This is honestly getting kind of ridiculous. It's not only ASOIAF that's delayed. The 6th Wild Cards book has been pushed back at least twice now.
That's right, a reprint of a book that was released more than 20 years ago has somehow been delayed TWICE. Like, I'm sorry, I love his work, but get your shit together, Martin.

Reading the details makes your choice of thread title even more baffling. In no way shape or form does this story equal George RR Martin releasing a new GOT book.

I highly recommending checking out GRRMs other work if you like ASIOF. Aside from the other ASIOF stories like the Dunk and Egg novellas, there is some really great stuff spanning multiple genres in Dreamsongs I and II, which are collections of his short stories and other works.
I especially love his sci fi stuff, the "Thousand Worlds" universe, very loosely connected sci fi stories.
