Just an observation about the recent status of the more creator driven programming in the last several years and its current state.
Phineas and Ferb ended in 2015 Gravity Falls ended in 2016 Regular Show just ended Adventure Time is finishing up Shows like Wander over Yonder and The 7D were recently cancelled And the whole mess with Nickelodeon's treatment of Harvey Beaks and its cancellation Steven Universe is still around, but I don't know how much longer Ditto Star Vs the Forces of Evil
It feels like that really strong era of the creator-driven shows has already reached far past its peak and we're seeing the networks give more focus on stuff like Spongebob and Teen Titans Go over these shows.

There's plenty of stuff coming down the pike, Disney already has Milo Murphy's Law (though its currently on hiatus), Atomic Puppet, Futureworm, and even Pickle and Peanut. CN still has We Bare Bears and Mighty Magiswords, as well as the upcoming Summer Camp Island, and hopefully Lakeside Plaza Turbo, Twelve Forever, and Infinity Train get picked up as well. Nickelodeon may have some stuff too, but I dont have that channel.

No, because those creators are mostly going to be bringing us something new rather than spend 30 years on one property.

No. They're still gonna make new episodes. The main problem with Nickelodeon & to a similar extent, Cartoon Network, is that they put all their eggs in one basket. Nick is worse that SpongeBob is the main thing (they seem to prefer live action programming) they still show on the main network, with The Loud House & that soulless Alvin & the Chipmunks farce being the only programs that get any airtime.

Yeah, and almost of these shows have overarching plots that the creators would rather finish up, often in the process of moving on to another project. I love Steven Universe and Adventure Time, but I'd rather they pick a point in time to wrap up their arcs. Better that than they drag on and on like Spongebob or Fairly Oddparents, to the point where their quality erodes. In contrast. to me both Avatar cartoons ended at the perfect time.

I was thinking about this the other day. It seems like the current golden era of animation might be ended in a few years.
