I was always more of a Quizno's guy anyway, but Subway served its purpose when I was younger.
Now that I know how to cook, it makes no sense to go to Subway, besides, I avoid processed meats as much as possible anyways.
The stuff on their menu can easily be made in bulk at home for much much less.

I fully believe they've killed the "balance" on a couple of their previously good sandwiches by getting too cheap. Same number of slices, but much thinner. You can literally see through the slices in a cold cut combo/trio now. It tastes like whatever the sauce you put on it. It was not always this way. The meatball sub appears to have "lost" one of the meatballs. It went from a meatball sub to bread with some sauce and meat. Little things like that tip the scales in sandwich making. That said, the chopped salads are better. Bingo, they got stingy. Haven't had a Subway sandwich since WM24. My brother (he buys food in exchange for watching the show) and my wife (she knew what everyone wanted) went to get subs for everybody. The place is maybe 5 minutes away. Took them over an hour. Said they were out of white rolls, had to get wheat. OK, fine. No big deal. My sandwich was so skimpy (meat lovers) it might have had 1 thin slices of everything...plus add to that how flat it was; like somebody sat on it. Everybody's sub was like this. I've sworn them off since. I can make better stuff at home...and cheaper.

The ones around me used to be ok, but really went downhill. They were never really amazing or anything but some years back they started tasting like bread sandwiches and I stopped going.

Subway sucked then stepped up to compete with Quiznos then once people thought they were healthy and helped them surge they kinda fell off.
I still ride for Quiznos. I will eat Subway.

Very good question. I'm going to say no. I just had lower standards back then.

I mean they make a sandwich. They microwave the meat. Its really simple and I think it's supposed to be acceptable but in no way exceptional.

The Subway near me is downright awful and they don't do monthly deals anymore (despite having signs for them), not to mention it's overpriced as hell. When a 6 INCH Steak and Cheese is $6.50, you can piss off. Subway was good for the price when it was $5 footlongs, now you can get way better for just as much if not much less. I use to have Which Wich near me and that place was amazing, so of course it closed down. I've been going to Penn Station to get my sub fix as of late or I'll hit up Jimmy Johns since there's one across the street from where I do my laundry. Which wich is the f***ing bomb! Subway sucks balls, but they are having a $6 any footlong deal right now so I've eater there 3 times this week. Might as well get one of their premier subs when it's 6 bucks. The pastrami is decent but not for full price.

Most likely food fatigue. I got sick of eating the same thing some times. Hell, some foods that I used to dislike I find myself craving again because of time away from it.

Subway kicks ass. I load mine up with all kinds of spicy stuff, lots of sauce, and almost all their veggies they offer, and it makes for a nice variety of flavors.

Eh, their bread was never great. I always preferred Togo's.

I live in Philly, the hoagie capital of the world. Subway is and always was crap. It's not hard to make a decent sandwich yet they never did. And don't get me started on the smell of their bread. Yup. I can literally go to my corner store and get a comparable sandwich, WITH FRIES, for less than five bucks.

I don't know what kind of tuna they use but it's delicious It's either delivered to the store or purchased in bulk from a warehouse store. I don't remember specifically, and it might vary depending on location. (Family used to own a franchise.) There's an AMA with an employee that says something about talking to the store manager regarding getting the hookup. I'll go there from time to time, depending on who's working. There's some who're pretty generous with toppings, some who skimp, and one guy who thought it was OK to open a to-go bag by blowing in it. I think that guy got canned, haven't seen him since.

I miss living in Chicago because we had Potbelly, which was brilliant. Can't seem to find one down south. Subway is a really shallow substitute. Need to give Jersey Mike's a try.

Subway is perfectly serviceable for what it is, but I'm also pretty over it. I used to be good with their meatball subs, but at this point, I'm asking myself "why am I paying for this sandwich I could cheaply and easily make at home?". At least a place like Which Wich tastes much better than the result of two minutes slapping a few things from my fridge together.

Of the chain sandwich shops I have been to Firehouse is the best.Even with it being over 10 bucks for me to get a sandwich and a drink. Quiznos I have no clue on since I haven't ate at one in at least 11 years. Subway seems to depend on the location. We got three in town. One in Walmart that is hit or miss. Then two in gas stations on major roads. One is always good, the other it depends on who is working.

Their sandwiches taste alright, but they skimp on toppings, and their meats are packed with WAY too much salt. Their dumb decision to artificially 'puff up' their bread by mixing it with the same chemical used to make freakin' YOGA MATS made me permanently lose trust in the company, so I don't give them any more of my money.
