This is an all-purpose 'I loved this movie; personally recommend something similar' thread.
Announce a movie you saw and enjoyed, and the person who replies must make a personal recommendation that is serious and sincere. (Anyone can look up generic recommendations on IMDB.) Then, conclude your post by mentioning a film you enjoyed, with hopes that people will recommend something similar to you.
I am not very familiar with Italian giallo films, but I love almost all of the other Italian horror films I've seen from the 70s and 80s. Anyway, I saw and really enjoyed Lucio Fulci's Don't Torture a Duckling, so please recommend a giallo that I will probably enjoy based on how much I enjoyed Fulci's giallo.

Dario Argento's OPERA is something I L-O-V-E-D, and I'd never met anyone who had even seen it. Buried treasure that really worked psychologically on me. And I'm like you, I love the style of those films. This one is essential if you like that style, in my opinion. And it'll be a discovery piece since you'll know very little to nothing about it from previous hype or mentions.
I think A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night is amazing. It's a reimagining of a horror genre and not even a horror film, like Let the Right One In. I wonder if there is something under the radar that achieves this in a way that works out and offers something new without being too disloyal to the genre/source.
