So are the police on strike, or are they being prevented from doing their job? Its kinda both. It is organized with their family and friends. They are the ones stopping then,but they are not trying to force way out because legally they can't Strike.But will change the title to reflect the situation better |

Technically the state is called "Espirito Santo". I know English speaking people like to add "s" at the end of vowel ending foreign words (or adding "o" or "a" before them) so it kinda became a small pet peeve of mine and gotta correct it  And yeah, the Military Police (the civil one isn't, but they don't have the same equipment, permissions and respect as the military one) is on strike (even if organized by their families, which is why it was decreed as illegal by the court) and a huge crime wave has going on the state (Brazil, unfortunately, has one of the highest crime rates in the world, especially for violent crimes, so people there are living a quasi-hell situation right now). |

So what are the police department's grievances? Basically a raise in money,as they have not received a raise or reajustamento ( Which is an extra pay based on the effect of monetary inflation ) But no details since there has been no negotiation |
