Been on a bit of an Iron Maiden kick recently so wanted to see what the general consensus was on the best Iron Maiden album. Right now I would say I'm really digging Seventh Son, it's pretty flawless. What say you FAN?

Fear Of The Dark for me
While the other albums are good - great (Even the Bayley era was decent) I think "Fear" has collectively more of my faves on it

AMOLAD was amazing from start to finish....easily (IMO) the best album they have done.

Somewhere in Time. Probably helped that was when I first saw them live.

Powerslave is likely my favorite heavy metal album.

Right now, I'd say Brave New World, but I could easily switch to Powerslave or A Matter of Life and Death depending on the day.

For me it's a tie between Powerslave and Somewhere In Time.

It was hard to choose between Powerslave, Number of the Beast and Piece of Mind. I went with Number of the Beast.

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. Seventh Son of a Seventh Soooo-oon. Although either Fear of the Dark or Piece of Mind gets my vote for best Maiden album cover.

As good as TNOTB is, had to go Powerslave. I feel that the album shows the band at its creative best, although of the second Bruce era, Brave New World would be the best from then.

For whatever reason I vastly prefer the second Bruce era, and it was tough to pick between them. But BNW it is.

I voted for Seventh Son, but there's at least another 4 albums that I could have voted for. They just have so many excellent albums.

Hard to choose just one album but I decided on Somewhere in Time as it was the first Maiden album I ever heard. Still I could have gone with just about any of the ones on the list. As far as live albums go, I still love Live After Death

I like them all pretty much, Killers was the first I listened to so it gets my vote for introducing Maiden to me.

I love Somewhere in Time the most.
Also, the Di'Anno-era "Phantom of the Opera" is an amazing tune.

You can roll a die between Piece of Mind/Powerslave/Somewhere in Time/Seventh Son. All are equally great IMO.
Iron Maiden's never made a stinker album, I think. Sure, there's some questionable material here and there, but nothing I'd consider really bad. The Blaze-era is usually blasted as a lowpoint for the band, with Bayley being the scape-goat, but judged on their own merits, "his" albums are excellent. He wasn't really responsible for the music either.

Holy shit, how is Piece of Mind not running away, with this? It's a perfect record!
