This and the Batman on Superfriends is my Batman. Goes to show that as much as I'm turned off by reboots and reimaginings, this isn't what the original Batman was like, but it's the one I know and love the most.

I like to think Commissioner Gordon was smarter than he let on. I think he knew Batman was Bruce Wayne but didn't let on to protect his identity. Of course, when he was under The Siren's spell in the Batcave he did seem surprised when he found out Batman's true identity so I could be wrong. At the very least he had to have known his daughter Barbara was Batgirl, no one is that stupid. Except Chief O'Hara and his force, who are as dumb as a box of hammers.

My favourite bit of trivia about the 1966 Batman series was that the guy who played Alfred (Alan Napier) was the cousin of former Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain.

At the very least he had to have known his daughter Barbara was Batgirl, no one is that stupid. Does this include all incarnations of Gordon? Gail Simone (a comic book writer that did the original New 52 Batgirl series.) basically said that she treated it that he was being willfully ignorant. Like deep down he knew it was Barbara but didn't want to believe it. That works for most versions of Jim. Though the 1966 one didn't seem particularly bright... and Batgirl did wear a wig so I would have no problem believing he was clueless.

The older I get, the better this show gets.
The recent animated movie was a blast, too.

Batman's detective persona has always seemed tacked on to me. I see him as a half deranged vigilante. Bad guys aren't worried about Batman doing an extensive investigation, they are scared shitless he'll throw them off the top of a building.

Michelle Pfieffer is my favourite Catwoman. I'd put Newmar and Merriweather at #2 and #3, then Eartha Kitt.
I love Anne Hathaway but she was never right for that role IMO. I refuse to acknowledge that Halle Berry movie.

Was Halle Berry contractually obliged to be in that film, because when she accepted her Razzie award for it, she blamed the studio.
If not, then she only has herself to blame.

I've never considered him to be a detective in the way you would Sherlock Holmes or Coloumbo. He's a superhero/vigilante hybrid.

He absolutely is a treated as a detective in the comics.
The movies have been pretty shit at actually conveying it however so if that is your only frame of reference I can understand that.
