So I picked up the Blu-Ray for this a little while back and finally got around to start watching. Watched 6 episodes last night. I watched this quite a bit when it was on repeat in the 90s so it's been almost 30 years since I properly watched an episode. This thing is a blast.
I forgot how incompetent Chief O'Hara is, I mean the first episode involves the riddler and the Commisoner asks him if he can handle it and he flat out says no.....I mean, don't you at least even want to take a shot at doing your job? I mean Mr Freeze I'd understand, same with Penguin but its the Riddler.....c'mon man
Riddler laugh.....You know it's good to see someone enjoying their job. Think this is the first time I've seen Burgess Meredith knowing he was Micky is the Rocky films and all I wanted him to say to one of the henchmen was "Get up ya son of a b**** cause Pengy loves ya".......Cesar Romero, what can you say. Never noticed the mustache as a kid and it's all I can see no whenever he shows up on screen
The fight scenes, god the fight scenes are awesome. I've seen them parodied at length over the years and you can see why. Camp as f*** but good lord, it is so entertaining

I had the massive episode and trivia guide as a kid. It's fallen to bits now, but I remember paying attention to it quite dilligently during the 90s reruns.

West Batman is my favorite guilty pleasure. Even the most mundane parts becoming entertaining. There's always somebody chewing on the scenary, making the most out of nothing, or just drunk enough to have fun

Lee Meriwether is quite the dish. I watched some episodes when it was on METV, it was pretty enjoyable 20 min.

Loved it as a kid. Loved it when it was a cornerstone of FX with Green Hornet and Wonder Woman. Love it now.
Off topic: How far as FX come in like twenty some years? Launching Tom Bergeron and Jeff Probst and old tv shows to the powerhouse it is today. Kind of interesting.

I never noticed Cesar's mustache, I still don't normally. Love this show. It's campy and goofy... but uh... so were the Comics at the time.... I mean. Also this show lead to the creation of one of my favorite Comic Book Characters in Barbara Gordon.

I never trusted Chief O'Hara. He seems like the kind of guy who'd smash your tail-light then say "I see ya have a busted tail-light there son"

I always found it funny that Aunt Harriot was kept in the dark about who Batman and Robin were especially sence she freakin lives with them!
Either that's some impressive secrecy or she's really that stupid

At one point Commissioner Gordon was on the phone with Batman and Bruce Wayne at the same time and genuinely could not tell it was the same guy.

I guess you turst Alfred that can he with stand, he will die before he reveals any info.

I'd forgotten all about Aunt Harriot. She doesn't seem to be held in the same esteem as Aunt May.

Am I the only one who thought Chief O.Hara x Aunt Harriet could have been a thing.

I'd write a story about Harriet being a Modesty Blaise-type hero in her younger days. O'Hara would have been a beat cop back then who worked with her to deal with criminals.

Either that's some impressive secrecy or she's really that stupid I'd say stupid considering all the laughable excuses thy give for dashing out that she buys. Like last night they were stargazing and the Batsignal went up and just then they have forgotten there was a South American lecture they had planned on attending. Also how much fishing and birdwatching can people do before questions are asked

Always thought Gordon was on the take really, how many times do the super criminals seem to break out of Jail? He doesnt even seem to try to do anything about them himself and gives up easily, thus always calls batman to do his job (though i remember one episode when bruce and dick werent available which was hilarious!) Hes utterly useless. Alfred on the other hand is badass.
