I've never seen a comic stop its run for an issue that's explicitly stated not to be a part of the ongoing continuity of previous issues.

One issue (admittedly a fill-in) was just an adaptation of the cartoon episode "The Big Broadcast of 2006", which was stated to be an "out-of-canon" story (when reprinted in the UK, they added a framing sequence to make it a story being told by Wreck-Gar). Speaking of the review, the opening made me wonder, what was the first internet review show to be done via video (as opposed to text)? The first AVGN videos were done in 2004, one year before youtube, any others before that?

That is the oldest one I know of.

well there were tons of alt world stories in the silver age that wasn't in continuity at all. DC used to call them "Imaginary Stories". Which is odd as it implies all their other comics were non-fiction.
