While as far as I can tell, it wasn't reported as widely as more recent attacks, back in 2012, one Mohammed Merah went on a killing spree, killing 7. Among the victims were three soldiers (including 2 Muslims), 4 civilians and 3 Jewish children. Nowadays, his brother, Abdelghani, who had already taken a stand against Mohammed's actions and even exposed and criticized the antisemitism in his family, from which he is estranged, has started a journey across the country to warn people, especially young Muslims, against radicalization. He is following the same path as a march known as the Marche des Beurs which occurred in 1983 to protest hate crimes. He also hopes to meet the minister of the Interior to discuss how to fight religious extremism.
