So i was just thinking, while SNL has had lots of iconic sketches, what are some sketches that havent aged well (just to be safe, we'll steer clear of political sketches)? While they still have some funny moments, the Superfans sketches are pretty much dependent on how much one knows about the early 90s era of the Chicago Bears, plus, the jokes about Farley having heart attacks are kind of cringeworthy now.

The Scraggle version of the Muppets were outdated the moment they debuted. No wonder Jim Henson bailed.

Is is safe to say the entire Hartman/Sandler era feels dated?

Going to go out on a limb and say, "Who Shot Charley Rocket" might not have aged great.

I cannot imagine the infamous Heather Locklear/Mike Myers pasta maker sketch.

Outside of the dvd sets, i dont think we'll ever see the "X-Police" sketches show up in any reruns anytime soon.

Like 70% of them. I love the show because I'm amazed that the cast, writers and host go from Monday-Saturday and then do a live sketch show. But honesty if you watch even the historically praised first five seasons and you watch entire episodes and not just the stuff that got over there was a lot of stuff that didn't work.

Most of the 70's stuff. I'm just not a fan of most of the style, same goes for the Muppets. A lot of the old SNL sketches were either fake sitcoms or fake gameshows. Some of the best stuff is the real satirization stuff that came later after Lorne left. There is some good stuff, but a lot of the sketches contain polite laughter.

Superstar and Perfect Cheer sketches don't hold up well, I didn't think they were that funny at the time. Now they make we wonder if we were all on drugs back then?

The Goatboy stuff. Never thought it was funny. Build a whole character around the fact that Jim Bruer can make a goat sound?
Same for Kattan's Mr. Peepers. Spitting apples in people's faces. That where Carlito got the idea?

I remember on the first season DVD (it might even be the first episode) there is a commercial parody for a 3 blade razor, obviously 3 was mean't to be a ridiculous idea but is of course completely lost on modern audiences

Stuff like the Uncle Roy sketches, with the running joke being that he was such a blatant pedophile who's clearly gotten his jollies from "harmless" activities with his nieces would now be shot down immediately in the writing room, let alone making air.

The Quarry commercial will never go out of style. It keeps getting better every time I see it.

I've never heard of this one. I remember more recently some parody commercial promised a razor of 15 blades!

A lot of it, really. It's fascinating.
What was funny in the 70's wasn't necessarily in the 80's. What was funny in the 80's wasn't necessarily in the 90's. What was funny in the 90's wasn't necessarily in the 00's, and some of that stuff doesn't even play now.
Comedy is comedy, but the World is always changing.

I've never heard of this one. I remember more recently some parody commercial promised a razor of 15 blades! This was from Australian comedy series The Late Show circa 1992/1993. They were calling 16 blades (and 75 lubricating strips) back then.
