Because hey, why not? Matthew McConaughey, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and John Cusack. 1.Cusack-If all he ever did was Better off Dead he would still be my number 1 out of this list. 2.Depp-Sure he has been coasting for 20 years now. But he knocked it out of the park in Ed Wood. 3.McConaughey-If all he ever did was Dazed and Confused I would still considered him a great actor. 4.Sean Penn-Decent actor, even if I think his brother Chris was the better actor of the two. 5.Brad Pitt-When he wants to he can be a great actor. But lots of times it feels like he just doesn't care. 6.Tom Cruise-In small parts in films he is decent. But make him the lead or co-lead and he is horrible. He peaked with The Outsiders and it has been downhill since then.

In terms of acting talent:
1- Penn 2- Cruise 3- Cusack 4- McConaughey, 5- Pitt 6- Depp
In terms of career star power, Cruise is #1, easily.

Matthew McConaughey - Good. Versatile.
Tom Cruise - I think Cruise is bland AF and as far as reacting authentically to other actors, may be The worst. So why's he so successful? An acting coach of mine had a theory: He's driven. Whether hes saving the world or running really really fast, Cruise is 100% committed and I think that resonates with audiences.
Johnny Depp - Brilliant Actor but I feel he definitely peaked with Pirates. He's had good performances since then but I think He's capped himself off. Still one of the GOATs (as Brando himself predicted)
Brad Pitt - Definitely aged like fine wine. His early performances were hit and miss but there's a vulnerability there behind the movie star looks that makes him unique.
Sean Penn - Good. Personally not a fan.
John Cusack - Same as Penn.

I think the whole "biggest film star in the world" tag has caused some to forget just how good an actor Cruise can be. You have the earlier performances like Risky Business, The Color of Money, Born on the Fourth of July and Rain Man (in which I still maintain that Cruise put in a better performance than Hoffman), his mid-career roles like Interview with the Vampire, A Few Good Men, Jerry Maguire and Magnolia and more great performances from this century like Collateral and Edge of Tomorrow. He's now established pretty well in the blockbuster roles but he's not just generic action film guy.

Johnny Depp Overall a solid choice, even when the movie is bad, he's the best part. Some redundancy and prone to wackiness when teamed with Burton and Carter, but overall an entertaining fellow to watch.
Brad Pitt Solid Journeyman that puts in perfectly acceptable performances. Though does have an occasional issue picking really dull and boring movies.
Tom Cruise He goes all out in movies, but also a little more crazy than is usually acceptable. Does get cast in roles he is completely wrong for, like Jack Reacher.
Matthew McConaughey Charming, but not really sure why people go gaga over him. He plays a good stoner/loser or out of depth lawyer, but not many tour de force performances.
Sean Penn Have never liked this guy's performances. Overly melodramatic with a weird cry face. But I accept I am in the minority here. Also, seems like a colossal asshole.
John Cusack Made a few good movies, but ultimately just a B- movie star whose wide eyed/mouth open/freaking out acting style has grown out of style.

Best to worst:
1. Johnny Depp - He's fallen off in a big way lately, but it doesn't erase the fact that he's in some of my favorite movies. 2. Brad Pitt - He's either boring as shit or very good. 3. John Cusack - Like Johnny Depp, he had a period of great movies (Say Anything, Better off Dead, etc.) but he's fallen off hard lately. 4. Sean Penn - I've not seen much where I enjoyed him. The two that come to mind where I did are "Fast Times" and "Bad Boys". 5. Matthew McConaughey - He's not awful, but he does nothing for me. I won't go out of my way to see a movie where he's the star. 6. Tom Cruise - f*** Tom Cruise.

Cusak is #1 and the rest are whatever in my opinion. Few actors can get me to watch a movie cause they are in it, and Cusak is one of them. Even if some of his movies are not great, I still check them out.

1) Pitt There was a time in the late 90s/early 00s that everything he was in was great.
2) Cruise Plays the same role in every film. After 30 plus years it's never gotten old.
3) McConaughey Great as a lead or a supporting actor. Most of his films are good.
4) Depp If you took out the Tim Bruton bromance there still enough there to place him this high.
5) Penn Talented actor works better as supporting actor then a lead.
6) Cusack Looks and feels miscast and akward in everything he's in. Specially 2012, High Fidelity, & Serendipity. Why do people keep hiring him!?

I'd order them like this.
1.Tom Cruise - Doesn't really do bad films and is always enjoyable to watch. 2.Matthew McConaughey - Is on a role as of late and is a very talented actor 3.Johnny Depp - Yeah everyone thinkgs of these bad films he has done, but his good films are great, plus Jack Sparrow. 4.John Cusack - I like him but he's not really in the same tier as the actors above. 5.Brad Pitt - I don't think he is that great to be honest. 6.Sean Penn - I can't stand Sean Penn so he's at the bottom because of that.

None of these actors are bad by any stretch, so I don't feel comfortable ranking them. But McConaughey and Depp are probably my favorites out of that group.

Because hey, why not? Matthew McConaughey, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and John Cusack. Simply for my own preference, from favourite to least favourite. John Cusack, because of High Fidelity, which is in my all-time top 5 movies. Brad Pitt, because I like a lot of his work even if he doesn't challenge himself much. Matthew McConaughey, because he is trying to challenge himself and is weirdly likeable. And Wolf of Wall Street. Johnny Depp, because he is very good even if I think he never, ever, f***ing challenges himself these days. Tom Cruise, because I have never seen him in something and thought 'I gotta see that.' Sean Penn, because he beat the shit out of Madonna.
