If you are visiting lower Maine, like Portland, the Sea Dogs start their season.
Upper Maine has a lot of hiking opportunities.
That's all I can think of.

It's a pretty long drive from the Boston area where I live though! Probably going to stay at an Airbnb along the way |

Allagash is my favorite beer in the world (especially their Belgian brew Allagash White) and they're Maine based. Even if you don't like beer, at least give it a try to see if maybe you like it now.

I was there a couple years back. Portland is a great medium-sized city. There are a lot of good places to get a drink and seafood is cheaper than what I'm used to. I paid $19.99 for a decent lobster, and had the best clam chowder I've had in my entire life. I drove north to visit Marshall Point Lighthouse. It's the one Forest Gump visited during his run. There are a bunch of gorgeous lighthouses up there if you don't mind venturing on the road less traveled.
