Okay so apparently since the update I can't use any Kota Ibushi or anyone who uses any of his moves?

Fire Pro plays nothing like No Mercy from what I remember. Haven't played this version yet but I assume not much has changed with the engine from the comments here. I guess more like No Mercy than the 2K games, very broadly speaking. To me, it plays similar to an SNES game I rented when I was younger called "Natsume Championship Wrestling".

Nah they straight up say that the gameplay is just like No Mercy. I mean that's not really all that bad considering how No Mercy is considered one of the best wrestling games ever made It's just an oversimplified way of not really breaking it down like they should considering from what I know (the game emphasis good matches, wearing down your opponent etc...) Simplifying the game isn't doing it justice but for people who are newbies to the game but know of No Mercy that's not a bad comparison. Hell, it's a lofty one when you put it like that
But its a terrible way to sell the game. Because it plays nothing like No Mercy. That’s like saying the new Spider-man game plays exactly like Donkey Kong. Its not a bad thing but it’s inherently wrong and doing a disservice to an audience member that may be on the fence if you know what I mean. It just comes off like they went for the positive wrestling game go-to of No Mercy instead of accurately describing and reviewing the game for what it really is.

Full circle, Natsume Championship Wrestling was a port of an AJPW game that was a Fire Pro clone. I wanted to say ripoff but lets be real, NCW and its parent All Japan game were fun.

I'm curious about what championships other people have made in their game.
Has anyone done an 8-Man Tag Team championship?
I like 6-Man tag titles, but generally I think a four man tag team title is pushing it. However, I made one for the non-wrestler characters (superheroes, movie characters, etc.) and I think it works for them, since there are superhero teams I can have team up for that "division".

Would you get the PS4 version or PC version? I was thinking of picking this up and creating an old school NWA promotion with some wrestlers from the past. Which version would be the better option for that?

Seems like the PS4 version is having a rough start though.

Yeah, the first Ember Moon edit I downloaded on PS4 didn't even have an Eclipse replacement assigned (it was "Powerbomb Whip" as her finisher), and I imagine the movesets and logic are better on the PC version's at the moment.

It was hit and miss on PC at first too but Fire Pro fans are super dedicated. The PS4 side will probably pick up soon, especially if the game makes it into the usual rotation of sales on PSN.

I ended up picking this up for PC. I started my promotion. NWA-GWA held it's first card.
Magnum TA and Dusty Rhodes lost to Barry Windham and Ted Dibiase. Tom Zenk pulled off a victory over Cowboy Bob Orton. Iron Mike Sharpe beat Iceman King Parsons in a brutal match. Sika with Afa defeated Rocky Johnson with Tony Atlas The main event was Superstar Billy Graham facing off against Bruno Sammartino. Superstar Billy Graham made Bruno submit with a bearhug.
In the tournament to crown the GWA Title was held. Junkyard Dog defeated Butch Reed, The Iron Sheik, and Ken Patera to become the GWA Champion.

Yeah, I kind of have the same issue with Fire Pro. I have a lot more fun watching it play itself than I do actually playing it. I just figured that was always the point. Even though I didn't bother scripting AI percentages, I enjoyed watching my CAWs go at it in Returns. I just didn't like having two that were nigh unbeatable.

I have yet to find the one that can defeat Zangief.

Yeah, I made a CAW in Returns who was just supposed to be the "Big Guy" in Big/Little tag team ("Big Perv", who is supposed to be a cross between Scott Steiner and Val Venis), but he ended up destroying everybody. Except the one guy even he couldn't beat ("Big Brother Brutus", who is working a Soviet gimmick).

So I just had a battle royal end with a three way match-up that I REALLY wanna see in real life. Anybody ever heard of a show that has Jeff Cobb vs. Bandido vs. Shane Strickland on it?

The NJPW update changed the game code so much to mirror the PS4 build that none of the mods work anymore and the mod creators have said they won't be bothering to learn the new code to remake the mods. There's apparently a way to downgrade your engine to the moddable version and patch in some of the new content, but I don't know how and it sounds buggy/potentially game-breaking. Edits on PC are definitely better though. But the modding community getting killed off really sucks.

I haven't played it in a few months but I was enjoying the mods that were out. I hate that it's come to this, tbh. I was hoping that SC outright not shutting down the mods was a sign that they were willing to work with the community, but having to work around the PS4 hardware be and signingal with New Japan was going to affect that, for sure. I get why Carlzilla was upset about everything that's transpired, but this had to have been expected eventually. It's a small team that's doing it's best to keep the game together, and mucking around with the code, even with the greatest of intentions, is going to cause issues. I've seen multiple times on SCFL where the game has frozen and flipped out with the suite of mods being active. I want these mods to work as best as they can, but we can't pretend that they're perfect, and have everyone get pissed off at Spike Chunsoft and the series in general because they did this.

Im not pretending to be nostradamus or anything but I knew the mods issue would split the userbase eventually.
I say this as a huge fan and user of mods, but the way Carl literally changed the game, he did it almost too fast. Generally mods come out after a finished build of a game has been on the market for awhile. He was doing it in early access.
I don’t blame him or hold him responsible for anything. Truly. The guy took a game and made it infinitely better, to the point I and many users will forgoe whatever official updates come from SC.
It would have been nice to have the best of both worlds. I mean look at all the edit parts that came with the NJPW dlc. And we still got two more to go, plus they added more priorities and whatnot. Imagine what the vanilla will be when they are done supporting it.
But it is what it is. I’ll keep rolling PC 1.02 for my own original edit fantasy workd and use PS4 to play with real world edits.

I feel a tad slow, I found out you can change the color of individual body parts without affecting the whole body. Makes creating full gloves way easier.
