People talk about Shawn selling for Hogan but Jesus, was Rock taking the piss or something? Was Austin ok with it?

Shawn oversold for Hogan on that one occasion to be awkward. Rock did it every time to be nice and to make Austin's Stunner look like a killer.

The Rock Selling The Stunner has NOTHING on Scott Hall's selling of The Stunner, which is my favorite selling of the move, looks like he's shot out of a damn cannon Alternatively, remember how Shane McMahon used to basically do a backflip after getting hit by The Rock Bottom? I do, it was hilarious.

Anything is better than Trump selling the stunner.

Anything is better than Trump selling the stunner. At least Trump actually tried. Linda's sell was just downright embarrassing:

Rock didn't do it out of intense spite and pettiness like Michaels did, and if Austin wasn't okay with it I have a feeling that Rock wouldn't have kept on doing it every time.

The Rock was overselling one move with the intention of making it look dangerous. Shawn oversold an entire match just out of spite.

I always loved Rock's Stunner sell. Doesn't really make sense but it always looks awesome.
Granted, I also love Michaels's selling in the Hogan match. Though in that case it's more because it takes what would be a blah match and makes it hilarious.

I vaguely remember Randy getting stunned almost out of the ring to where he was pointed taint first at the camera

The Rock always wanted to make finishers look more explosive and as impactful as possible, iirc. He used to take a Gore/Spear like it ripped him in half.
Given Austin and Rock were/are good friends, I sort of expect the Stunner Sell was a "joke between friends", like those times Foley and Rock tried to get each other to corpse on live TV. That Stunner Sell got more and more OTT as time went on...

Rock only did the oversell with the intent to make the move look good. It ended up looking comical but that wasn't his intent. If he could go back and do it again I bet he would greatly loosen up that handspring thing and then it'd be decent.

I just hated that THAT version of the Stunner was always the one that made it into the video games.

The Rock's stunner sell always makes me laugh I don't think I've seen the Hall stunner, in years.

He oversold it to make it look awesome.
A little touch that I love that really makes his sell even better than anyone elses..is that while everyone just drops to take the stunner.
The Rock JUMPS and it seems Austin only did it with him because he would take a slight jump himself to be in time with the rock and when they would come down it looked like the most devistating thing ever.

I always found Rock's selling funny as hell, as for HBK selling in the Hogan match, I didn't think anything of it because he sold like that all the time against bigger guys and when he was a heel.

Agree with all the comments saying Rocky was doing it to make the stunner look as devastating as possible. In fact the first time I bought Kurt Angle's Angle Slam as a main event level finisher was when he did it to the Rock and he sold it like it was the most devastating move on the planet.

I just hated that THAT version of the Stunner was always the one that made it into the video games. Yeah, I didn't mind Rock doing it on TV, but once you saw The Big Show doing the handspring in a video game, it became more than a little ridiculous.

The sell I always hated was the "Bounce up and land on your feet so you can get hit by infinite Stunners" sell.
Is that the one Hall did?
I remember it being in Shut Your Mouth...
