Everyone's favorite Orc Murder Simulator is back! The Nemesis system was fantastic in the first... let's hope they improved upon it... and maybe actually focused on more of the story/gameplay as it was really lacking in the original. Also really kinda annoyed/confused that the nemesis system didn't pop up anywhere else since the first one...

Excited for this. Also excited this likely means the other WB games announcement later this week will be a new Batman game.
The nemesis system really would be great in other games, it would've worked well in Mad Max for sure.

You can put it in a ton of games... a Mafia game can have the two bit thugs rising up the ranks to the Don. A superhero game could have low level punks/thieves ect... eventually grow in power and become world beating supervillains. as long as it's something that has a definitive gang or army based enemy you can mold it to fit in that scenario.

I'm excited for this. The nemesis system was superb. I loved seeing the first random stooge who killed me get promoted to Captain, become Sharpa the Spear Master and proceed to murder his former master and take his place.
And killing one Orc Captain who returned with a burned face and kept stalking me constantly so whenever I was in a battle with another Captain he showed up to interfere.
One of the best gaming innovations ever imo. I'm also disappointed it hasn't shown up elsewhere

Oh yeah. Without a doubt, was just thinking of WB games they could've used it in.

The nemesis system is an idea for me that both works and doesn't work. It works because it gives some specificity to the combat system, because really most of the time you're killing random-ass orcs. But it's still so broad that you're not getting something so specific like a boss, but only getting random name/trait generated character, which to me defeats the purpose of the system altogether.
I guess because the game also doesn't constrain you to play a certain way (mostly bow, mostly sword, mostly dagger), but instead allows you to become a maxed out god, anything specific that the nemesis system offers is undone by the leveling mechanics.

Can't do it.
I am done with "do 5 things 100 times" games.
Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Arkham, Mad Max, Phantom Pain and Mordor shall have no more of my money.
Oh who am I kidding. I easily have over a hundred hours in each of those and I'll probably buy the next ones.

I've had the first game for two years now and never got around to playing it.
I should remedy that.
