And now, the song that inspired the classic number Dr. Zaius from Planet of the Apes: The Musical, here's Rock Me Amadeus.

Listening to some of those follow up songs, I actually think this guy missed his true calling as a songwriter. Translate them completely to English and give them to other bands and I think they could've been good sized hits. I can easily see "Jeanny" being rocked out by an 80's arena rock band. But as is I can't see him appealing outside of the Germany/Austria sphere of influence.

I haven't watched the video so maybe they acknowledge it but didn't he have another hit with Vienna Calling?

This is a patreon request he forgot to do... for the past 2 years apparently. Also, finally some Alternative German Rock Bands on OHW! (let's wait to see who gets the reference)

i had that falco tape back in the day falco was rad My family listened to that album, both sides, on the way up to the cottage every summer. True story. We always got a kick when he said "TORONTO, CANADA!"

Yeah, he's considered a demigod by many over here, and quite honestly he has a whole bunch of annoyingly catchy songs. But I have to agree, I never could see him catch on outside of central Europe as a performer. Maybe as a songwriter though.
