I know he is using still shots because he does not want his videos hit by bullshit copyright claims.
But c'mon man I'm sure no one will claim the rip off movies if he uses moving footage from them.

Yeah, with everything Jim Sterling has suffered from 2-bit companies with no clue on what in the world is going on, I would be more willing to risk it with the big names than the no name ones.

I had forgot all about Ape
And on the 76 movie as far as I know the US has never got a release with the deleted scenes. So unless you taped the NBC version you will never get those deleted scenes

I put Konga on my wish list the moment I saw that video Konga is tremendous. It's like "What if Hammer made a King Kong movie?" The Mighty Gorga is now at the top of my must-see list.

I put Konga on my wish list the moment I saw that video Konga is tremendous. It's like "What if Hammer made a King Kong movie?" The Mighty Gorga is now at the top of my must-see list. Mighty Gorga is incredibly fun awfulness. I first saw it on Elvira's early 80s show and finally got hold of it again with the Something Weird VHS release (and later, DVD release with One Million AC/DC). He doesn't mention the best part of Gorga's ineptitude - the ape is only ever seen from the waist up because that's all of a costume they could afford to make. And its eyes were painted on poorly, making it cross-eyed. I'm surprised he didn't do a video over the animated versions of Kong - there have been four now. The Rankin-Bass King Kong Show in the '60s which King Kong Escapes is based on, the '98 direct-to-video The Mighty Kong, the 2000s Kong: The Animated Series (and its two direct-to-video features) on Fox, and last year's Netflix series Kong: King of the Apes.
