My family's Golden Labrador passed away this morning, he was twelve years old and from the sound of things had been put down due to developing tumors on his brain, I've had him snce he was a puppy and he will be missed.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear this!!  Today is 2 weeks since my dog's passing, and I am still sad about it. I hope his passing was as peaceful as possible. You can always PM me, if you want to talk. Again, I am so sorry. |

I'm sorry to hear this. Being prepared to make the right choice on behalf of your pet in this situation is the hardest part of being a responsible and caring owner. I'm sure he had a great life.

You have my sincere sympathy.
A couple of years ago, I had my cat, General Sterling Price (named after John Wayne's cat in True Grit) put to sleep because of cancer in his throat. He was about 17 years old, so I know I was lucky to have him that long.
Making the situation harder was the fact that for the vast majority of the time that I had him, I was nearly a shut in due to crippling mental illness. At times, he was the only friend I had. Thankfully, I'm doing much better now.
I didn't mean to go off on a tangent. I guess I've been holding that in a while.
My thoughts and sympathies are definitely with you and anyone in your family affected by it.
You're certainly never alone when it comes to something like this.
