I've seen clips of this but never the whole. From what I remember it seemed more like something that would air on Saturday morning after Saved by the Bell then anything Clerks or Kevin Smith related. Gotta remember to check out the whole thing later.

It's been a while since I watched it but isn't Keri Russell in it? Yep, she's the super tan girl in the beginning. I'm sure she thinks of it fondly to this day.

I made it a whole 3 minutes into it I think. Once Randall was apparently playing football with the ice cream guy in the video store, I had to shut it off. Just embarrassing.
Jim Breuer is a funny guy otherwise.

To be fair I'm sure the show would have picked up once they introduced Leonardo Leonardo.

Jim Breuer's a funny guy, but no amount of talent could save this writing. Atrocious. Feels very much like it's shooting for the "Married With Children" vibe, which is so far removed from what Clerks is.

Bookmarked to watch later.
Haven't read the rest of this thread, if it's NOT a love rest for the animated series I'll be strongly disappointed in all who participated.

I find it both amusing and depressing that both Brian O'Halloran and Jeff Anderson auditioned for this, and both were rejected. I love that they both auditioned for Dante, since Jim Breuer was already cast as Randal (Breuer was signed to a development deal with Touchstone Television). Jeff Anderson mentioned this in a deleted scene of the documentary "The Snowball Effect" on the Clerks X DVD set. He basically told the guy who set up his audition that what he does as Randal is basically all he can do (being a sarcastic smart ass). So basically warned them that he would just be a sarcastic Dante. Which is what they seemed to do with the guy they actually cast, which is so antithetical to the character. It's also funny seeing the difference between how Dante's father is portrayed in the live action pilot versus the cartoon series. In one of his Q & A DVDs Kevin Smith talks about briefly working on the live action series and pitched what would be the Outbreak episode of the animated series in the writers room. They told him it might make a good B plot to an episode. Smith excused himself for a smoke break and never went back.

Anyone watched the animated series lately? Has it aged well?

Anyone watched the animated series lately? Has it aged well? Better than you'd think, actually. There's a few frayed edges there, but for the most part, the show still hangs together as really funny.
