I've been reading the Injustice comics....

Right now i've just finished Year Three. I love them all. Superman's tale in this story is so tragic. What he did to Lois and their unborn thanks to Scarecrow's fear gas, a bomb that would wipe out Metropolis when Lois heart stopped beating, and I think everyone who's played the game knows what Superman did to the Joker - but seeing Superman having to emotionally deal with that - but seeing him turn more maniacal as the story goes on, wanting no more wars, no more fights, policing the whole world, being manipulated by Sinestro in Year Two, with Batman rounding up all the rebels he can from Green Arrow and Canary to the GCPD.

Also, in the game I think people were wondering - me included - how Hal became a Yellow Lantern, and I love how the comic in Year Two explains that and how the Guardians didn't approve of Superman's policing the world actions and didn't approve of Hal being a part of that either.

Black Canary was another who was badass in Year Two and had revenge on her mind after what Superman did to Ollie in Year One.

Harley was fun through all three years. I loved how Ollie kidnaps her and takes her to "the Arrow-cave" and Harley saying it's stupid and he should call it "The Quiver" with Ollie saying "That's...actually a lot better!". I didn't think Ollie and Dinah would build up a kind of friendship with Harley but I thought it was nice.

Year Three being all about trying to take Superman down with magic and Batman seeking out Constantine, the Spectre doing everything he can to keep Superman safe, Constantine making deals with Trigon, Batman and the rebels hiding out in the Tower of Fate, it wasn't as exciting as Years One and Two but I still enjoyed it.

Anyone else read/reading these books?

I read the first 4 issues of year one and didn't care for it. But know plenty of fans that do love it.What I read felt a bit like Gaiman's run on Miracleman.

I tried to read it and didn't like it either. I can only take so much "what if Superman was a bad guy?" shit.

My thing was the "what if superman was a bad guy" trope has been done so many times and much better before Injustice.

i just got the game a little while ago, and i've been reading the comics over the past few weeks, which has led to a couple weird coincidences. just over a month ago Justice League Dark came out on video, and the day after i finished watched it i started Year Three, which heavily features John Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, Etrigan and Swamp Thing

i just started Year Five, but my reading of it has slowed down because i've been swamped with school work. i like the story fine, but the artwork could be improved.



i also think they should have focused a little more time about what's happening to the average citizen. the main point of resentment against Superman and the Regime is that they've become dictators and turned the world into a police state, but except for early on in the series when Gordon and the police were rebelling in Gotham you never really see any of it, or hear how John Q. Public feels about it. it reminds me a lot about Marvel's Civil War, but with that there were discussions about people being arrested and imprisoned without trial and the impact their actions are having on the public, whereas this is just Batman going "We must stop Superman!" and Superman going "Find me Batman!"

Superman giving away Batman's identity on Twitter felt a lot less like an evil ploy and something he'd do if he just got really drunk.

In short, don't really care for the series much at all.

And of course, it's always f***ing Batman who is the good guy.
