X-Men. The first three films (and The Wolverine) are set in the present day, First Class, Days of Future Past, and Apocalypse take place in the 60s, 70s, and 80s respectively, Wolverine: Origins is all over the place, setting wise, while Logan takes place in the future.

Similar to the video game thread, these are entries in movie series that dont "fit in" with the rest of the series. I'll get the obvious one ouit of the way first, Halloween 3. Also, would Nightmare on Elm Street 2 or New Nightmare fall into this category? More NOES 2, as New Nightmare has vague ties to the other movies, in the Vince Russo "Everything is fake, except for what you're watching right now..." way. Freddy's Dead could fit here too, as they dropped everything from the previous films again (all but Part 2 had elements that carried over into the following films). Here's something interesting: HIII has one scene where there's a commercial for the original Halloween, which indeed is what's airing the night of the big giveaway. So does that mean the Michael Myers saga exist merely as a work of fiction in the "real" world of Halloween III? ??

One podcast I listened to one time jokingly stated that it was one of those specially made movies to cover incidents like that. Sorta like how they had that recent TV series with the OJ Simpson trial, this was a movie based on reports in that universe of the Michael Myers attacks.

Rocky V - climax is a street fight instead of a boxing match According to Stallone, V does not exist in the Rocky canon any more so I'd say that solidifies it as the odd film out. If Rocky 5 isn't Canon them he should still be in the mansion Ann's balboa and creed don't exist.

I'm guessing sometime between Adrian's death and the start of Balboa, Rocky sold the mansion to return to his old familiar neighborhood and used the proceeds to buy his restaurant.

Maybe not a 'series', but of the Kevin Smith movies that feature Jay and Silent Bob, "Chasing Amy" is the odd one out. Its like in CA they were the real people that all the other versions were based on.

Orgins: Wolverine.
Doesn't take place with the rest of the xmen film cannon.
Different Sabertooth from the first film, different Deadpool, different story on how Cyclops and Xavier met. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with the rest of the films except for Jackman
Which is good because that movie really sucked

Back to Nightmare on Elm Street, I just remembered, even Part 2 had the vaguest of connections with the rest of the series up to part 5 (and including 7, kind of). As Jesse finds Nancy's diary.

What makes it even more interesting is that it was rumoured that originally, the man behind the Thorn Cult in Halloween 6 was going to be Cochran, in an attempt to tie-in Halloween III to the rest of the series.

Trial of the Incredible Hulk. Out of the old Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno TV movies, this is the only one where Banner needs saving.
