How in the hell is Caillou ranked so low? Ever since I became a parent, I have never seen any character vilified as much as that little bald-headed bastard... My kids aren't allowed to watch that little shit. He's a selfish asshole.

Never heard of Stressed Eric before seeing his review on it.
But I can kinda understand his point that these types of shows work best if the protagonist is an asshole or a villain.
If it is just an everyday man who seems to does not deserve to get all the s*** in the world, I would not find such a show funny either.

Caillou and Angela Anaconda should be WAY higher. And really, no Sonic Underground?
Frowny face, sir.

Canadian children mocking Caillou for being an annoying little shit is a proud national tradition.

Tex Avery was on at 6 am here. I watched it as a 15-year-old and really disliked it as far as I recall. I often chose to watch the morning news instead. I believe we got X-men: The Animated Series at 6:30, so the morning was not a total loss.

Stressed Eric bombed bad because they were trying to gear toward an American audience. They even had Hank Azaria do Eric's voice in the latter episodes hoping to get that American audience. Bad move. But I can kinda understand his point that these types of shows work best if the protagonist is an asshole or a villain. If it is just an everyday man who seems to does not deserve to get all the s*** in the world, I would not find such a show funny either. Guess that also explains why a lot of anime, specifically the rom com animes aren't popular in the states because most of their leads are like that, nerdy guys(and plain girls) that get all this crap and not deserving it. At least Ranma was a big enough jerk to get hit, especially when he insults the other characters.

Apparently that Wacky World of Tex Avery got a movie made a couple years back.
Was ANYONE in need of that being made? I mean I've said in the past I would love to see bad stuff get remade with the intention of doing good, but with this..there's nothing there to work with.
As I mentioned before, they had this idea of presenting this hodge podge world of characters you know nothing about, and quite frankly don't really like because they're all annoying or bland. Not only that, but none of the writing is clever.
They want you to like these characters without giving you a reason to. Think about any classic cartoon character, guess what most of them have in common? They mostly came from studios who had multiple failures before striking gold. Hell MGM and Warner spent years trying to find something to be as successfully consistent as Disney before getting Tom & Jerry and Porky Pig. This show out the gate presented 6 or so very bland cartoons. Yeah, call it an homage...but the real Tex Avery on his worst day could create anything better than this by leagues and leagues.
