I will miss Eva she brought some much needed sex appeal to the product and especially now that the fans and female talent have been blinded by workrate in an effort to become this generations Mae Young. Eva Marie was far more Mae Young than the rest of the women. Mae and Moolah were the original Divas whereas the new girls are trying to be wrestlers like Mildred Burke. I have to respectfully disagree with you I saw the Mae Young video package a couple weeks ago saying Mae was the greatest female of all time and putting her in the same company as Rosa Parks and Maya Angelou.

That's why I don't want her to wrestle cause there's no point unless for a storyline or 2 but you've got women that can work and I'm looking at it like there's a lot of people that like womens wrestling but there's also a lot of people that don't in my vision you can have the girls that work and then the girls that don't and you use them in other ways this is the same company that got sable over as a huge star he couldn't wrestle, she couldn't talk, she couldn't act but she was hot and watching that stuff back except for the hand print deal even when she would strip on tv she was wearing more clothes than Sasha Banks or a lot of the current women wear on a weekly basis and I'm not saying I want them stripping cause I don't but there are other things you can do with the women even within the pg rating other than just wrestling and it annoys me that everyone thinks you can only do things one way when there are a lot of different options.I even feel the same way about the guys if you got a guy that can't work but he's good looking use him in other ways because this is a tv product and your trying to appeal to different people that like different things so give them some variety and you appeal to more people. How could they make use of Eva Marie though? It's universally agreed that her only redeeming features are she's easy on the eye and she gets heat but the problem is being easy on the eye isn't a unique trait in today's WWE, and her heat isn't the kind that you can use to give a rub to someone else or draw money, given that fans legitimately hate her guts and just want her gone, and even if that wasn't the case her complete lack of wrestling and promo ability negates it. So all that's left for her to do is stand in front of the crowd, look pretty, and take abuse from them for being utterly worthless as a wrestling talent. That's an act that gets real thin, real fast, adds nothing to the show, and - let's be honest - is probably a miserable existence for her. No wonder she looks to be putting wrestling behind her. When all you can offer is an aesthetic amongst a sea of talent who can either wrestle, talk, or both, and most look pretty damn good, then you're dead weight. My teenage nieces, the women I know and a lot of my guy friends hate womens wrestling but the women I know love total divas(well they did but it's jumped the shark with them)and don't watch wwe because it isn't like total divas they want to see glamorous women and their outfits and maybe romances with the wrestlers cause they see wrestling and fighting as beneath the women and they should use their smarts and manage some men and have them do the fighting.Thats the thing that a lot of insider hardcore fans don't understand most people don't care about the actual wrestling and great matches they like other aspects of the show and when wwe is at its most successful they are giving more things to more people.

So just watch the Kardashians, the Real Housewives and whatnot. There's thousands and thousands of shows you can watch that don't have wrestling in them.

Wrestling doesn't need sex appeal, Is it nice if they are attractive to look at? sure but if you're only watching a women's wrestling match for the T&A (Not to be confused with the terrible owl themed promotion) then you should just use google or watch HBO.

I need to find that video. I do give Mae a hard time because of how evil Moolah was and I know they were friends and from what I read she was guilty of some of the same stuff Moolah was. Mildred Burke is the pioneer of female wrestling. She went to Japan and inspired the entire Joshi scene and is basically the genesis of women's grappling. Then Moolah came on the scene and reduced women to eye candy and it's only now that we are finally escaping her dark legacy in the WWE. Maybe Mae could work, but she was involved in women being used as pure sex objects too. And besides if Mae Young is what today's female roster aspire to be then they have set the bar incredibly low indeed.

In wrestling you can have the women that can wrestle, the women that can't as valet or other, the Crusierweights,The Giants, the soap opera,Brawlers, great Technical Wrestling alittle of something for everything everybody.A lot of fans get so obsessed with what they like and don't realize their not the only people watching or not watching the show,Everybody doesn't have to be the best wrestler ever that's what makes the ones that are all the more special.

Hey I was shocked by the video but videos do not lie and wwe doesn't lie so my shock quickly turned to acceptance.

The fans have been blinded by expecting to see women who can actually wrestle. Yeah a lot of the Internet fans have been blinded by that but when I talk to actual humans beings that watch wrestling they don't care about match quality they watch for stars, characters they enjoy and storylines.

It's 2017. Everyone is online now. This whole "internet fans" thing is just laughable at this point. No one watches wrestling to see some clueless bimbo stumble around clumsily. Eva Marie isn't a star, and never has been. She has no character. She's terrible on the mic, displays little or no personality, and couldn't carry a storyline to save her life. Her presence in WWE is a relic of a past era that they've thankfully moved on from.

Indeed it does, So you can see the issue with trying to make Eva a wrestler then.

She was booked very well in NXT and on Smackdown, but didn't have the talent to back up a great gimmick. She was a poor actress and poor wrestler. She had been doing this for a few years now, experience could no longer be used as an excuse; she just didn't really have it in her to be "good" in wrestling. Still, she always got a huge reaction from fans (that could have, and at times was, used for good; like her valeting for Nia Jax) and she gained popularity for Total Divas which helped WWE for promotional purposes.
Really, she had a very good thing going for her. WWE liked her, she had a level of success in the entertainment business and she has a big social media following. For someone with her level of talents that's really good. She is going to find post WWE very difficult. I wish her luck but I think in a few years time she will be regretting this decision.

For all the talk about variety in wrestling from earlier, the thing I counter with is this.
Yes, you can have women partially as eye candy in the wrestling business. But they also have to be good at their job or an aspect of their job.
Eva couldn't wrestle, Eva couldn't convince people she was someone to root for or someone to boo (without a tonne of smoke and mirrors), Eva doesn't really do promos and even the ones that are supposed to be seductive come off as super hokey.
You can talk about the variety needed to get more people watching but getting people bad at their job isn't going to do it. It's why WWE couldn't do anything with Rosa Mendes because she was literally bad at everything.

Lana and Maryse are managers. They have defined characters and have genuine performing ability. Emma, Nikki and Alexa are all capable wrestlers. Eva Marie falls into neither catagory.

Another case of potential not capitalized on by WWE. Who cares if she's not a good worker? She got more heat than Charlotte and Alexa!
