I mean, he's always been up front about the business first mentality, but this seems harsh even for that. Even Brock Lesnar has said that he has fun in WWE this time around. I understand his age and the pain of working out, but what does he have to be miserable about? He's barely had ring time, he's getting paid a huge sum of money, and they made him champion and built WrestleMania around him which means MORE money. Yet, he's miserable. Compare this to Sting, who came in and had a blast putting in far more work at an older age, and put over a full time star in his final match. I'm not a Goldberg hater or anything, but this just reads really badly. Ignoring the fact that "what does he have to be miserable about?" is never good logic when it comes to mental health, from the interview it sounds like the dude is basically in discomfort and pain 24/7 as a result of this run. Living in pain is not fun, no matter what. He worked his ass off to get back in shape to return. If you listen to the interview he goes on about how he still thinks he "looks like shit"! It's crazy. He says he hit his knee with a chainsaw(!) in July and then blew his meniscus out on his other knee in August last year and had 2 operations and worked himself into the ground to try and get big again because WWE called him 6 weeks later. Working with injuries would explain why he's been even wrestling even shorter matches than ever. Also holy f*** what's this about a chainsaw? Like, switched off obviously because he wouldn't have a leg otherwise, but what the hell happened there? (Spoilered for graphicness)

Of course he's miserable. He's about to get dropped on his head a dozen times by Brock Lesnar at Mania.

I'm calling it: lesnar and Goldberg have a match so good, it teleports them to the Tokyo dome, erases everyone's memory of their previous mania match and stone cold comes out and let's them give him a stunner. Meltzer gives it 6.25 stars.

"I go to the bathroom about 20 times intermittently throughout the day" Well that explains why his matches have been so short, dude needs to go dookie.

*note to self*
Find a job where I can just go buy a car off the lot for doing 86 seconds of work.
Find a job where I can make sure my family is set financially for doing 3 minutes of work in 6 months.
Poor, poor Goldberg.

It is all a bit "woe is me" considering the limelight and money he's getting, but still, I imagine it's absolutely no fun at all getting that 30s-year-old Goldberg shape back. So I can understand the venting.
Good job they didn't have him wear a wig for 5 seconds this time, though, or the guy would be suicidal.

That article is very misleading. If you actually listen to the podcast he is speaking very much in a light hearted tone and joking about how mad his schedule has been just getting back in to and maintaining shape at his age. Again, actually listen to the podcast... he sounds like he's having a lot of fun and speaks very highly of how everything is going in comparison to his first WWE stint. As evidenced by the succeeding replies, people obviously feel it's more satisfying to slate the guy instead and ignore this aspect. "Wish I could get paid millions of dollars to be miserable"

I'm miserable trying to lose the 20 pounds of baby weight I have left. If I had to get in that kinda shapoe at 50 I'd probably end up actually killing someone.

He's very grateful for the opportunity Vince McMahon offered him, but is in physical discomfort. He was at a comfortable 230 lbs but had to get back to 285 or whatever he is now by putting on pure muscle.
I don't know how much he's getting paid, but as he had millions already banked, so this run is purely for his family.
As for his position in the company, blame Vince McMahon. He saw dollar signs and put Goldberg in that spot.

I'm sick of Goldberg. From him wanting to be back for his kid/money to him having a feud with a guy he's really good friends with, to him being this badass who's not put on a real match since his return and to him using his WCW nostalgia theme which was never as good as his WWE theme. I really liked him back in the day and did enjoy his return but he is the epitome of part time and nothing feels badass about him this time around.

sure. Maybe he should visit Taiwan and work at a shoe factory for 14 hours per day, six days a week, for 500 dollars per month That would make a good movie. "WWE Studios presents.....Bill Goldberg....in....SWEATSHOP SUPERSTAR" They're missing an opportunity to not have Goldberg star in the movie version of their old Maximum Sweat figures. I mean, nostalgia's big right now, making full length movies based on toys is big right now...

Goldberg has always been a diva and difficult to work with. In a legends roundtable in the heatseekers episode, they mentioned that Bill treated the production people horrible

Boy, I could rant about how this strikes me as yet another example of taking a 3 second sound bite out of a 1 hour podcast and spinning the attitude of the podcast to match only that.
It's really sad that's what news reporting has come down to. It's not the other 99.99% of what you say, it's the one little thing that you say half joking around that gets printed that is supposed to represent how things are. It's literally the adult version of "telephone". There's been so many misrepresentations of what happens reported that it becomes fact over time.
It's the reason why I barely read news anymore before I get the full gist of things. Too many people have that knee jerk reaction. Seriously, take a minute to find the full story before you decide to write your manifesto on why Goldberg sucks.

A lot of people are taking the article out of context. A lot of websites (Uproxx, for example) are taking things completely out of context so they can get clicks and put their little opinions behind it.
He's miserable because the man is in his 50's and having to train constantly/put his body through things he probably wouldn't do otherwise at his age. His body is not reacting the same as it did in his prime, thus, he is miserable.
Stop giving these terrible websites traffic. Please. For the good of us all, do your part to lead them (The websites, not the people behind them) to their deaths.
