Going to see Green Day on Saturday.

I don't normally make these kinds of threads, usually mine are just goofy references and movie quote reference threads. But I'm beyond excited for this.

I'm going to see Green Day up in Minneapolis on Saturday with my cousin and his wife. I've been a fan of Green Day since the mid 90's. I was gonna go to their concert down in Omaha about 4 years ago before they stopped touring while Billie Joe was in rehab, thus cancelling a number of stops, including Omaha. But now, I get to go see them in a couple days.

I'm jealous. They've been one of my favorite bands for over 20 years, but I've never had the chance to see them. Then they came here about a month ago and I didn't have the extra money to spend on a ticket.

I saw them last month in Atlanta and they put on a hell of a show

I've seen them a bunch of times: My first time was at Warped Tour in 2000, a few times at big arenas like Madison Square Garden, Giants Stadium, and PNC Bank Arts Center, and I was lucky enough to be at the American Idiot record release show at a small club in NYC called Irving Plaza.

Never seen a bad performance. They are absolutely one of the best live bands out there.

Saw them in 96 or 97,they had The Riverdales opening for them. Fun show.

Just got home a few hours ago from Minneapolis. They had Against Me! open for them, which they were a pretty good band, despite the fact I never heard of them before.

Let me just say this: if I never went to another concert again, I'd be okay with that.

I saw them last Saturday in Pittsburgh and they put on a heck of a show. I am going to see them again at Wrigley Field in August. Pretty pumped about that show as well. I have never been to Chicago before and to be able to see them in Wrigley should be awesome.

I think Against Me! played for about 30-40 minutes, which we thought was a pretty good opener. Then I think Green Day played for about 2 hours, if not longer. They played a few from their new CD, and then they played a lot of their older classics, along with some wacky hijinx on stage for a break or two.

Like I said, it was an amazing concert. I don't think anything will top that.

Seen them four times over the years. They're the Shawn Michaels of live rock bands, they deliver every single time.

I'd love to to see them with Against Me! as support, I'm a big fan of both bands. They're headlining a festival in Hyde Park, which I would love to go to as Rancid are there too. Alas, I'm getting married a few days after so I can't make it.

Seriously though, glad you enjoyed the show. I'm on the morning show for the station that supported it, and everyone was super excited.

I met Billie Joe Armstrong once in the parking lot of a Video Update before a 2000 concert. His Stepmom is from Stillwater, and he was returning her movies on the way to playing a sold out headlining show. Pretty cool.

I would say there was about 5-10 minutes of politicalness from Billie Joe. And it was stuff I agreed with.
