For those who didn't tune into Dragon Ball Super earlier you would've noticed two things if you had, first of all for some reason they were showing Rick and Morty instead despite DBS being listed. Second and most important was that a brief commercial for Season 2 of Attack on Titan aired, which is scheduled to be aired 4 weeks from now on Toonami on the 29th.

Interesting season so far. I love that Sasha got an episode to herself. And she wasn't a coward this time.

Not gonna lie, I find the images in the ending credits kind of disturbing. Basically lots of people in their moments before being killed by titans while a sad song plays.

Dub premiere was moved forward a week to the 22nd because people are peeing their pyjamas in excitement. www.animenewsnetwork.com/daily-briefs/2017-04-03/toonami-premieres-attack-on-titan-season-2-on-april-22/.114318Caught season 1 last year, devoured it in like 2 days and then went onto the books to sate my appetite. Shit gets wild, but you're constantly left with the sense of "I can't wait to see this animated." Have watched the two seasons 2 eps and they've got that tone nailed down something major. Disappointed that season 2 is only 12 eps long, but things might get more consistent once the books end and Isayama does seem to be drawing ever closer to his end game, if he's not there already.

Playing the game Koei released last year, it's pretty fun swinging around cutting down the Titans. Levi's as strong in the game as they make him out to be in the show. All subs though for some reason instead of having the English cast as well.

All subs though for some reason instead of having the English cast as well. It's a Koei game. You either get no dubs or you get shitty (if epicly funny/meme worthy) ones.

Since obvious things are obvious in this show, I think it's safe to assume the people missing from the village are the titans.

How did everybody find last Saturday's big reveal?
I think they actually did it a better service than how it was done in the books.

At least most of the Titans faces look at least human, that one doesn't.

How did everybody find last Saturday's big reveal? I think they actually did it a better service than how it was done in the books. To me it was still hilariously casual. Unfortunately that seems to be a recurring issue with the franchise, the biggest secrets and mysteries are revealed with the feeling of, "Oh..."

I think that it loses a lot of luster when you step back & realize that the Titans are biological Mecha of sorts instead of actual monsters. Also means those that are Titans are largely dicks as opposed to a preset ideology about the superior being.

Not sure if you've read the manga (just ordered vol 21) and I'd love to get some other people's ideas on this, but it doesn't seem like the 'special' titans are fully in on the deal. It's like they're Manchurian Candidates or something. If you watch those last few episodes again, with how he talks to Reiner it seems like Bertholdt gets 'activated' sometime in the castle while Reiner doesn't remember until Bertholdt talks to him on the wall. As for the regular titans, my theory is that they don't have as much autonomy as the specials as they seem to act on instinct unless directly ordered by one of the specials. Whether they're natural titans or people turned to titans against their will, or a combination of both.

It wasn't so much "oh", as it was out of nowhere with no lead up. Almost like a Russo serve. A friend told me the manga version of the colossal/armored titans reveal wasn't as haphazard.

I would respectfully disagree with your friend. If you think the show version came out of nowhere, it benefited from a bit more dedicated foreshadowing and had a load of tonal cues that gave away something was amiss. The book version felt like it was crowbarred into the end of the previous story and you'll find yourself skimming back over pages going "wait. what?" It is foreshadowed, but it legit comes outta nowhere in the most low-key way, to such an extent that it makes the show version look like WM30 in terms of climax. Granted, I do like an understated reveal because it's consistent with AoT's just hopeless, agonizing world.
