The thread about the McDonalds pizza in West Virginia reminded me that I, a 28 year old grown-ass man with two college degrees, learned for the first time last year that West Virginia and Virginia are two different states. I had always thought when people were saying "West Virginia" they were just talking about which part of the state they lived in.

I'm 35 and I don't know what the House Of Representatives actually does.
I also don't completely understand the rules of football.

Your mileage may vary on how embarassing this is given that I'm not from the country, but it's only recently I've properly learnt the layout of the various States of the US.

I was 35 before I realized that the easiest and best way to peel a banana was from the "bottom".And I had been eating at least 5 nanners a week for 3 decades straight
I thought Jimmy, Bret and Owen were all brothers until the mid 2000s
I was two years out of college before I realized that the Washington Redskins were based out of DC and not Washington State. And I am an NFL fan... I just never made the connection.

It was only about 5 years ago I realized that department store Kay's slogan "Every Kiss Begins with Kay" was referring to the word kiss beginning with the letter k.

If it's a bundle, getting it off of the bundle ends up tearing the stem portion like half the time, anyway, so it becomes easier to open it up. |

I live in western Washington and I had a co worker think the redskins were out of Yakima in eastern Washington |

Sometimes I still get the alphabet wrong and think it goes LNMOP instead of the correct LMNOP, and that is as a life long 37 year old native english speaker.
