Yup, despite the videos not being monetized, despite the many times Teamfourstar has been shown to be within their rights, despite it now being law that companies are required to consider fair use (and indeed, fair use itself protecting this sort of work), despite the fact that there is almost not a frame of unedited footage any more at this point (and, by design, there is genuinely no copyrighted audio), this shit has happened yet again. I'll let Lanipator explain and hope that Patreon, Vid.me and other alternatives outgrow YouTube quickly:
Between this and their age restriction nonsense which is not only pointless to begin with considering videos can already be flagged as inappropriate to younger viewers, but was quickly exposed as flagging videos that so much as mention LGBT themes, by which I mean that having the word "gay" in the title is enough to be flagged, it seems YouTube feels it's been too long since they last gave people reasons to hate them.

Well, not long since the whole 'shuffle in promotional status of channels/subscriptions without telling anyone resulting in more channels promoting with no way of knowing if it works' kerfuffle. The LGBT stuff was MUCH worse, though.
I don't know what the solution is, though. Google doesn't seem to want to cooperate with creators or reach something with major companies and unless a billionaire strikes an awesome idea, YouTube's replacement will come the same day a Facebook one will. As in never.

People used to say the same thing about MySpace and we all saw how that turned out. Be patient my friend, YouTube's time will come. MySpace was damn limiting in hindsight, though, and anyone could have come along to do what it did but better (Heck, Bebo was better), so Facebook came at the right time. With YouTube, you have an easily accessible, recognizable and with Google backing it, a company that can afford to pay the costs of supporting all the videos. Again, you need to have something that not only improves on YouTube but can afford to pay the same high costs to support videos. The fact that so many alternatives have died because of that says a lot and the stuff that remains is so below the radar, companies aren't even filing trademark strikes against them. Like, when's the last time Dailymotion was threatened with a lawsuit over content?

It's much more murky in this situation as it's very likely this was a bot by Toei, the Japanese animation company or maybe Fugi TV. In Japan, there is no such thing as copyright protection for parody or satire. So it's more of a difference in world culture than just Youtube being Youtube, especially with TFS's really good relationship with Funimation.

I noticed this a few days ago, I was watching the Frieza parts through and noticed Part 3 was pulled (despite it still being listed). So I don't think this was a sudden "just now, a ton of shit got pulled", unless something happened in the last day or two and a ton more got pulled.
YouTube is always so tickytack with their policies and when/how they apply them. And ditto to companies. Some are pretty consistent (Nintendo), some might throw a fit if something just came out but will lay off over time (Rockstar wanted NO footage of GTA 4 when it launched to the point YouTube put a banner up on their main page advising against it, and then they didn't give a rats ass if GTA V was streamed to death on Day 1), some straight up just let ya have at it. It's why Atlus is outright and upfront threatening takedowns on a LOT of Persona 5 stuff, when, going by the interpretation most use (both YouTube users and companies) of "fair use", it's not breaking any rules.
And as Ganon83 said, safe money is this was some bot or something false. I remember LittleKuriboh went through this for AGES with Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged, particularly with people posing as Toei and Konami that weren't that would get his account suspended within literally MINUTES of his account coming back up.

In Japan, there is no such thing as copyright protection for parody or satire. So it's more of a difference in world culture than just Youtube being Youtube, especially with TFS's really good relationship with Funimation. I'm really confused about that. It seems one one hand you can have a copyrighted character make a cameo in your work, or even straight-up plagiarize them as a character in your own work and get away with it as long as you never mention their name, and on the other hand... this. I still say there's some YouTube being YouTube going on because, well, they're the ones who created the system and algorithm that makes this abuse possible and they still refuse to even address the problem and refuse to communicate with channel owners or moderators despite the fact that at the same time, they create this "YouTube Heroes" nonsense which is supposed to allow random people to talk to YouTube employees directly. Oh yeah, another recent YouTube f***-up I forgot to mention: there have also been several channels that were deleted with no explanation despite them not having a single strike (I learned about this through it happening to Linkara but there were others who had a similar experience). Thankfully, as far as I'm aware they did get their channels back within days but the fact that it happened in the first place and, yet again, with no warning, communication or recourse of any kind for the channel owners until after the fact, is inexcusable from such a massive media company owned by an even more massive media company. Maybe stop making money off of other people's work? By design, the script, dialogue and dub work are completely different from the original and indeed Teamfourstar's own work, so the audio is entirely Teamfourstar's. As for the video footage, it is heavily cut-down, edited and altered. How is that "making money off of other people's work"? Oh and here's the kicker: as I mentioned in the first post, they don't make money off those videos. They aren't monetized. The money they make is from merchandising, that is to say, selling their own material. So again, I ask: how is them not making money off of videos that are mostly their own material and entirely their own work making money off other people's work?

Maybe stop making money off of other people's work? They don't make a penny off any Abridged Series they produce. None of the uploads have ever run ads that profited them. The only money they earn is through merch, their gaming channel, or their Patreon which explicitly states that it does not fund Abridged Series. Hell, the intro to literally every episode of DBZ or Hellsing Abridged says "The following is a non profit fan based parody."

Don't forget that some of the visuals are actually their own work, like any scene now involving Nappa. They are doing original animations now for Nappa.

Maybe stop making money off of other people's work? They aren't claiming the show is theirs. It falls under fair use. They use the animation, but they write their own scripts, do their own voice acting and editing. Plus i can guarantee you that without team four star, there would be no dragon ball super

so following that logic, i could take something like blade runner, cut it to pieces and add my own dialogue. plus make t-shirts and other types of merchandise based on it and it's not making money off of someone else's work?
