So I bought the Modern Warfare trilogy and have been replaying them. I was turned off by the first Modern Warfare when it came out, and I didn't try the MW games again until the third one came out on Redbox.
Coming back, I still don't like the first MW, but the second and third are still as awesome as ever. In particular the globetrotting third, with all its stunning visuals.
The first COD game I ever played was 3, and so it always has a special place, despite the gameplay not aging that well. 2 is always a classic, with its Normandy levels.
Other COD games I consider my favorites are World At War and Black Ops. Black Ops, with its Cold War setting, was great, but it started to introduce something I absolutely hated, the unskippable might as well be cutscenes at the beginning of levels. Having to wait sometimes ten minutes to get into the actual action while I maybe move my guy around and stare at things happening. Black Ops 2 was even worse.
The last COD game I played was Ghosts, which wasn't bad, but certainly not memorable.
What about everyone else? Favorite games, favorite moments, etc?

Black Ops 2 is still my favorite campaign, but I'm really enjoying this "movie" kind of approach with the recent games. I mean, they've always been completely linear, but I've liked Advanced Warfare and Infinite Warfare a lot. Even Ghosts isn't terrible. I don't know, maybe the fact I never play multiplayer (which always looks recycled as hell) helps, but I'll keep playing them as long as they're interesting.

Based strictly on campaigns, because I cannot stand multiplayer and the zombie modes just bore me.
World at War is probably my favourite because of the atmosphere, with the first Black Ops running a close second. Also, I'm a Reznov mark.

I don't do any multiplayer on any games, I'm strictly single player. And I loved that they extended Reznov's character into Black Ops, and maybe even Black Ops 2.

I loathe the Halo-fication of the newer MW games. If I wanted hyper magnetized laser weapons, and moon boots I'd play Halo. I preferred the somewhat more realistic man on man combat the modern warfare franchise offered (although I did enjoy BLOPS 2 both campaign and multi-player)
Give me. Modern Warfare 2 and 3, and BLOPS 2 and they're my favorites I've probably played the three of her relatively equally and love them.

Going by Single Player, Ive liked em all.
They're not classics by any means but I like them for a fun blast for a few days.
But I'd like to see them go back to the past, Not WW2 since that's SO played out IMO Napoleonic would be great

World at War - Black Ops was my favourite three. I'd say MW1 was the best.
I remember jumping over the gorge in a snowmobile in MW2 was the moment I realized the series had gone too silly for me.

Black Ops, but it's also the only one I've invested any amount of time to play. I'm not big into modern FPSs

I know many dislike it and see it as the point the franchise started to decline, but I have many fond memories of many hours of gameplay (online multiplayer and local) of Modern Warfare 2.

The ones where you shoot people and 13 year olds call you homophobic names and say they banged your mom.

The ones where you shoot people and 13 year olds call you homophobic names and say they banged your mom. Well...did they? Although that stuff is a big reason I avoid multiplayer on any game. And come to think of it, maybe that's why I always gravitated towards the Treyarch games, they seemed to place more of an emphasis on story and immersion.

The Modern Warfare trilogy were the only COD's I really got into. LOVED MW1 but get in on it after its prime. People I know give me hell for liking it because "eww COD" but MW1 is in the legit talk for being one of the best and game changing FPSs of all time. There's a simplicity with MW1 that has a tone of charm behind it. It's just enough of everything.
MW2 was the first one I ended up getting and enjoyed it. It added more than what MW1 had but at the same time, there's some things they added that I'm not the biggest fan of. I remember being a god with the Last Stand perk. I'd love to play MW2 again, but I don't want to play it to have to get the setup had I back in the day.
MW3 I felt like they were adding too many things to the point that it was not COD anymore. It was like tea with way too much sugar. Was not a big fan of Black Ops 1 and I tapped out by the time Black Ops 2 came out. I've wanted to get MW1 remastered because like I said, I got into MW1 way too late. However I'm not getting Advance Warfare or dropping $60 for it. If they redo MW2 on its own and make it $20-$30, I'll get it in a heartbeat. I miss my old griefing/trolling days.

I'm happy to see World At War get a lot of love. If nothing else, it had the best music of any COD game.

I've still never played World at War. I need to fix that.

I've actually never played a single one of the games, except maybe one of the early ones (I don't remember. Might have been Medal of Honor)

I had a .27 k/d ratio in BLOPS 2 and had the most fun ever with Jr. I used an assault shield class with double flash bangs and double skin grenades, throwing axes and complimentary care packages. Used to love having a score of 6800 and be atop the boards and a k/d of 2-26
