What line of work are you in? It seems that the management have cast aside a lot of common sense and gone in all guns blazing, not taking into account your valid reasons for missing the odd shift. If it was regular, or always on the same day or you were unapologetic about it then they might have a point, but you're being treated very unfairly, in my view. If you've got a Union rep or an HR Department, I'd speak to them to get your side over first. Best of luck with it.

Well, got a call from the shop. Turns out the entire freaking engine failed and needs to be replaced. Jeebus they are going to ream me right through the you know what on this.
