It has all of us talking in a thread on page 15 already. Do I think it's deserved...ehhhhhhh Do I think other people should have the title...yeahhhhh Does it have me intrigued...yup. Prior to the match I couldn't see him winning, but having a good portion of the crowd actually behind him really made me appreciate that American audiences are ready for an American champion that just so happens to have roots elsewhere in the world. I said in the PPV thread he should just drop the foreign heel schtick and be a dominant 'heel' champ that cheats to win. An Indian-American JBL. Except without all that bullying nonsense. 'Cept he's a Canadian man of Indian descent and the crowd seemed to be shitting on him.

I fixed my post, thanks for letting me know. And we must've been watching a different show cause mine had "let's go Jinder" / "Jinder sucks" chants that were pretty close to being even. And a huge portion of the crowd was clapping and had their arms in the air with him when he posed after he won. They just didn't show any close ups of them, but if you watch again there's a huge portion of the crowd that was loving it.

So all it takes to be WWE Champion now is the right ethnic makeup. This is where we are now. Jinder Mahal is a part of the measuring stick to what makes the top champion. I was half expecting this due to the whole India stuff, but I don't think we can ever claim someone isn't WWE Champion material again. The one thing left that WWE had kind of protected has now joined the various other meaningless accolades they have.

Good thing I stopped giving a shit a long time ago Honestly, I'm more amused than anything else. I can't even be bothered to get angry about it at this point.

The whole scenario is just too bonkers for me not to find a little charming. Jinder Mahal holds the most storied championship in his profession, and it didn't take the rest of the roster being killed, quarantined, or held for ransom to do it. Up until now Jinder's only hope of becoming champion was if a catastrophe wiped out the whole roster at the Hall of Fame while he was the designated survivor sitting at a table at Axxess.

Everyone is comparing him to Hogan, Savage, Bret, Austin etc but ignoring Stan Stasiak, Sgt Slaughter, Bray Wyatt and JBL. Jinder is far from the worst.

It shouldn't have happened but the belt needed to be off Orton. That said, it reminds me of the King Mabel push, a perennial jobber catapulted to the main event without sufficient build, purely because he's big, it was a bad idea then and a bad idea now.

After years of being hindered, now it is Jinder who does the hindering, and first up is my will to live. Haha yes. Jinder sucks what a boring main event. Dude was blown up 6 minutes in.

How does he not deserve it? Because the dude's a subpar wrestler and subpar talker who up until a month ago had probably never worked a ten minute match in his life and only catapulted up the card due to them opening a new office in India. There isn't a single thing the man's capable of that can't be done better by three dozen other people in the company. This is definitely true. Jinder sucks.

You know, like, the seventh dumbest idea Vince Russo ever had - that is, his idea of making Tank Abbott WCW Champion? And how we all make fun of him for this stupid idea - how dumb of him to suggest giving the top belt to some random low-card act. Vince Russo is such a bad booker. Vince McMahon just Out-Russo'd Russo. Totally true this is stupid and lazy booking.

This has got to be the worst night in Bret Hart's life. Actually, it probably is. That's the same prestigious championship he held. The same one that eluded Razor Ramon, Roddy Piper, Owen Hart, Ted Diabetes, Mr. Perfect, and countless others over the years. If Jinder can win it after jobbing up until literally like last month, where's the standard? It clearly doesn't matter. Give the f***ing thing to Headbanger Mosh. WWE did crap all over their main title smh.

all i can do is shake my head at this post. I'm sorry but the dude is awful in the ring...awful on the mic, has an awful and generic anti-american/we are all racist gimmick...who looks like aliens are about to bust out of all that bacne on him from drinking that magical juice. Deserves it? my god. And I shake my head with the notion that keeping the Belt on Randy, someone who has long overstayed his welcome in the ME, should still hold the title over someone younger and hungrier. If this was Rusev, or Zayn or anyone else, we wouldnt be having this argument and everyone would be haopy. Why cant we be happy for a career jobber whose probably legitimately accomplishing a dream when the odds were stacked 1000 to 1 against him. He just put on a decent to good match with Orton, a match thats clearly over with the crowd and was able to garner legitimate heat. Dude must be semi-decent at what he does since he was able to have ANY reaction at all. And can we pump the breaks on the acne stuff? His look is fine. Crowd sat on their hands the whole match what are you talking about?! !

King Mabel deserved a WWE championship. This was one of the worst wwe championship matches ever & I'm including Mabels match.

It's baffling to me that they would book Mahal to win the WWE Championship with the sole purpose of drawing in an Indian audience. If the fate of having an Indian audience rests on having a champion of Indian descent, what happens when they decide to take the belt off of him? Or is it more "look, India, we're willing to put our belt on Jinder Mahal! Please don't leave when we inevitably take it off of him."

It's also done to" shake things up" for the sake of it instead of investing in interesting/nuanced characters and good longterm storylines
