I hate to say it but the more I was watching the more I wanted Jinder Mahal to win, it's just surreal to say Jinder Mahal is the WWE Champion.
I mean if I had a time machine and went back 4 months to tell everybody here he would be champ and have multiple threads about him, you'd all tell me where to go...

His bacne could mean something else besides steroid usage. it could mean he doesn't wash his back throughly which is more frightening. And I'm happy for Jinder winning. I'm sad that people are hurling steroid accusations without any proof of a positive test, they're just jealous of the Maharajah

Is anyone else thinking Nakamura leaves Smackdown Live this Tuesday with the WWE Title?

I mean....I'm legitimately surprised I'll give them that. In fact you could say I'm Confused Yet Interested.
But it's mind boggling that Jinder Mahal, who, nothing against the guy but he is a very, very mediocre talent...Is a World Champion in WWE. Not only that, but before a good dozen or so wrestlers who have more overall upside to them- Rusev, Nakamura, Joe, Sami Zayn, Kofi, Big E, Strowman, Cesaro, Harper, Corbin, Gable, just for starters...
Congrats to him on the win but I'm utterly baffled by it.

'Cept he's a Canadian man of Indian descent and the crowd seemed to be shitting on him. I knew the Singh brothers were from Canada, didn't know Jinder was as well. I fixed my post, thanks for letting me know. And we must've been watching a different show cause mine had "let's go Jinder" / "Jinder sucks" chants that were pretty close to being even. And a huge portion of the crowd was clapping and had their arms in the air with him when he posed after he won. They just didn't show any close ups of them, but if you watch again there's a huge portion of the crowd that was loving it. I was there live and can confirm this. Jinder got a lot of cheers after he won.

For me the last unexpected out of nowhere champion was Bradshaw, tag team guy not doing much going into 2004 then boom..WWE Champion. Jinder may just have topped that. There may have once been a time this would have annoyed me but now I'm more intreaged than anything else. He isn't exactly my first choice for suprise WWE champion but I'll take it. But then you think of some of the legendary names WWE has had who never held that title.. guys like Piper, Dibiase, Bulldog and Perfect etc... none of these guys ever became wwe champion but Jinder did. He is like the Leicester City of WWE

That's what my biggest issue with all this is. Nothing was really built up. You can't suddenly undo months and months of jobbing just because you feel like it or you want a new audience. It just makes the whole process of wanting a new star or new people in the scene meaningless if it doesn't feel like effort is put in and, well, no effort was put in besides the absolute basics (challenger looks strong going into title match)

Years of jobbing. Jinder has never been more than a jobber in the WWE save for like the two months he was with Khali when he debuted.

They made Jinder champ just to get all the reactions shots, right? Sadly, we will probably not see the couple at ringside who burst out laughing in any of the video packages.

Can't really compare Piper, Dibiase etc; was a completely different era back then where they would go with the top guy, Hogan in this case, for years.
Tv, ppv, etc was completely different then. Those guys listed "deserved" it more than Jinder, Miz, Sheamus or even say an Ambrose or Reigns given all their careers to this point vs the span of the Piper et al careers in total.
But it's useless to compare difderent eras with different circumstances.
It's like comparing Wilt Chamberlain with say Shaq. Each guy woulda been dominant in any era, but competition was altogether different in theyears they played

Before this push, Jinder probably hadn't had a long match since 2009, which is probably why a 15 minute match needed 2 resthold spots that were over a minute long each.

Just to clear something up:
Roddy Piper was offered the title TWICE and turned it down flat. So stop it with the "bwaaaaahhh Roddy Piper was never champ" stuff ok? It was Pipers CHOICE.

Not sure what's shocked me more. Jinder Mahal winning the WWE Championship in 2017 after returning in 2016 and being a complete jobber or Sheamus making his Raw debut, destroying Jamie Noble for a few weeks, wins a battle royal then beats Cena for the WWE Championship.

I'll go against the grain here. For as dull and predictable as the WWE is and has been for years, they did something different. Whether it's good or bad is up to you to decide, but it's different. It's not something you could have set your watch to like practically everything else they do.
Besides that, do I think Jinder's on something? Yes. To be that big with that little body fat will look suspicious. That's what all the veins are indicative of; low BF%. I was 8% BF once and I was veiny as well. Difference was I was about 160 lbs with 8% BF. Jinder is probably well over 200 and that's something that would raise an eyebrow for me.

Look at the pictures of Mahal on 3mb,he was always veiny to a degree.

Bryan Alvarez said that before the start of his push, since August of last year, Jinder only won two matches... It would be funny if Jinder gets Rob Conway'd in India.
