Reading wrestlers reactions,I can't see how is undeserved. Hard workers deserve success too. Jinder Mahal has been a wrestler since 2002
He has been wrestling since he was like 15 years old, he's 30 now. So half his life. And has been someone who has taken a ton of pinfalls and in turn put a lot of people over, something else plenty of people seem to overlook, among the other things like the reason he is where he is is because he's an underhanded heel using The Singh Brothers as human shields to capitalize on people.
Jinder did not demand nor asked to be pushed. Im pretty sure he would have been ok if he had been continuing to job, he was as shocked as anyone else when he got the Contendership Push. He's always been a guy who has been complacent and fine with everything he's been given, and honestly? That gets you places too.
I don't think it is fair to say Jinder's any less of a hard worker than anyone else.

I will say it's odd how violent THIS of all things is making some of you. I've not been following the product and even I can see this reign having transitional written all over it. Or if it is long-term, either it's a pleasant surprise ala JBLs run or its gooker worthy. Either way, doesn't seem like anything worth all this e-bloodshed. I've seen AJ Lee threads that are more civil than some of the ones going on right now. Tell me about it. I am in love with this meltdown. It intrigues me just how much of the horrible/unbelievable/despicable crap the WWE has pulled since the start of the Attitude era that wasn't impetus for you guys being "done" with the company. HHH's supposed drugging and kidnapping of Stephanie. Mae Young giving birth to a hand (hell, all the degrading shit they had Mae and Moolah do.) Katie Vick. I'm more than sure that quite a few of you were here for all of that, and you're still here. But Jinder winning the strap? THIS IS MY LINE IN THE SAND. Too unbelievable for you? C'mon guys. Honestly, I could accept this better if they started giving Jinder batshit crazy angles like that. Let him give birth to HANDnaryan Mahal live on Tuesday and at least he'd be more interesting.

Reading wrestlers reactions,I can't see how is undeserved. Hard workers deserve success too. Like it's nice for Jinder and all but how does that translate to an enjoyable program? If The Last Jedi benched Kylo Ren because this dude is the new main villain: And all the actors involved say how great it is he's getting a chance, it would still suck. A boneheaded story choice isn't made better because it's nice for the performer to succeed. The problem with this analogy is that WWE doesn't have any Kylo Rens, nor do they have any Poes, Finns, or Reys. Everyone is as meaningless as everyone else, so they may as well just give the title to Jinder and at least have a fresh face as champion. They could give the title to Nakamura and it wouldn't make any difference. That's what happens when the booking makes everyone irrelevant.

Day later and even though I enjoy the chaos of Jinder winning the title and I have to admit I'm pretty intrigued in watching Smackdown on Tuesday. I do kind of hate this unless they are purposely doing a Buster Douglas route to really oversell "The Land of Opportunity" tagline. But yeah like I said Jinder winning kind of negates there is really no standard for this guy can't be "WWE Champion because his __________ isn't good enough" anymore. Like now there's no excuse why someone like Cesaro hasn't been given The WWE Championship or Universal Championship now.

If people don't like it, just wait it out. It's probably a short transitional reign anyway. Personally I'm happy for the guy. That's what people said about JBL in 2004. "It'll probably be a short transitional reign!" And then we got 9 months. I mean, I liked it so maybe Jinder will work out too. I guess there's just a part of me that wishes WWE would strap the rocket to the backside of someone who's gotten organically over -- say a Cesaro or Zayn. What does Jinder have that they don't? I mean, other than a startling capacity not to be hindered.

I really hope Jinder now is getting paid a lot better now. It would suck for him to be WWE Champion and making less than 500K.

Even recently, you could say a Kevin Owens level villain is at a different level than an Aiden English. It's been eroded more and more over the years as the pushes become more transparent, but there was a difference between jobber level and world champion level. I guess not anymore after this. If WWE's going to go further and further into "It don't matter. None of this matters" booking and not even bother for baseline logic, I guess it's not even worth questioning then. It just really bums me out.

I've seen a lot of anger but was the match any good or was it exactly what a Orton vs Jinder match sounds like?

First time WWE did not sell out Chicago for a PPV in over a decade. Tickets were 90% sold before the main event was announced.

I heard his match with AJ wasn't that great so I didn't have high hopes for this. But I'll probably check it out eventually.

You did forgot to mention the tickets were also a lot more expensive than usual and how often they go to Chicago. I won't be surprised 3 months from now there's a Raw or Smackdown in Chicago. And another one right before 2017 ends. Plus another PPV next year. This whole Jinder push is more of a play to India where they have lots of viewers but not a lot of merch buyers. In a few years WWE is going to make a serious play to China just like how Hollywood has been doing with China where China is expected to surpass America as the biggest movie box office by 2020.

Nobody wanted to watch Jinder ON Main Event so it's crazy he's now THE main event.
It's even crazier he's been wrestling 15 years and struggled to apply those arm submissions with any sense of force, they were basically holding hands at one point.
