So they're not even subverting anything or adding something new, they're just retelling the movie with Tom and Jerry. Not only is it badly animated, it's lazy.

I was more wondering why it exists rather than offended by it two words: Cash. Grab. Five words. They've. Got. To. Have. Mooooooney.

What's next? Tom and Jerry in Gone With the Wind? (That film would take way too long for a cartoon movie) or Tom and Jerry: Blade Runners? Or Tom and Jerry and Dirty Harry? Tom and Jerry: The Room. "I did not hit her, it's not true! It's bullshit! I did not hit her! I did not! Oh hai Droopy!"

So something new (I guess) is that they do make Slugworth more involved in the plot, but still working for Wonka.

Which, as the Gizmodo article on this atrocity points out, makes goddamn no sense because they show him actively trying to sabotage things and try to catch/chase off Tom and Jerry only to be foiled by them, but only because he was afraid that it would ruin his cover as working for Wonka. Only...HOW?! In the original story, it made sense because it was a test of loyalty in the kids. Here, he gets needlessly involved because they needed a foil, but they still do the whole twisteroo... Arrrrrgh...this thing's gonna make a ton of money from people ironically hate-watching it, isn't it?

When something has "Original Movie" slapped on the title, you know it's not original at all.
