I wonder if the people saying that the Hans turn is out of nowhere have ever actually rewatched "Love Is An Open Door". In retrospect, it's really pretty clear, and I appreciate the subtlety as opposed to the original song in that slot "You're You", which would have made it not even a twist at all.
I feel like there's more potential to the worldbuilding for Frozen, so looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

He had an "aww shucks" love look on his face when Anna ran off, and no one was around him. He saved Elsa's life. And yes, he wore gloves, like the greatest villain in Disney history... Mickey Mouse.

I always felt they could've done the Hans thing better.
My idea was instead of revealing that he was manipulating Anna the whole time, just go with the idea that he thought he loved her, but really he barely knew her and was more in love of what she represented - his own Kingdom and something greater in life then being a forgotten thirteenth brother. When his kiss doesn't work, instead of being all "I never loved you", he should've been "I have to love you, it's the only way for my life to mean anything". Then you explain his villainous actions through the rest of the movie as him having a mental breakdown over the revelation. He was selfish and delusional, but not malevolent.
I would have found this a much more interesting subversion of the prince charming cliché then what we got.

I'm looking forward to the new antics of the girl with the ice powers who due to tragedy shuts off her heart from everyone else and its only the love of her sibling that saves her in the end. Of course, we all know who I'm talking about
