I am actually curious about checking out this film. Now this seems like an indie superhero film that I would like to check out. I am sure it will be much better than Max Steel. The trailer looks interesting and I heard it was shown at Sundance festivals. Though I wonder why WWE Studios purchased the rights for it. Have trailers or any sort of ads been shown on Raw or Smackdown lately? This seems like a movie that they only bought the distribution rights to as it appears that no wrestlers are in it.

It looks very "Chronicle-ish"..I'm also surprised WWE is producing it because it looks really good and interesting.

Yeah, there was an ad on Raw, and WWE distributes some films that aren't wrestling related in any way, like that Halle Berry 911 call center film.

Not in a huge role, but he was in there. Another movie came out around that same time called "Dead Man Down," which had Wade Barrett in it as a mob heavy.

Did they have any wrestlers in Oculus, then?

Then again, I remember WWE Studios had the rights to The Day, which was another movie that they only bought the rights to, but no wrestlers were in that one, either.

Yeah, it stood out amongst the usual kinds of films WWE distributes.
Dead Man Down still holds up to me as a solid action/thriller type movie, but other than that most of WWE's more recent catalog of films suck. This one looks like it'll fall more into the Dead Man Down side of things for me.

Was this that movie I saw a trailer for last night during Smackdown that looked like highschoolers discovering some Force powers?

Push R Truth I think it's more like a highschool kid gets some new magnet-based technology. Like he gets a guy to develop for his magic tricks but then uses to defeat Gus from Psych.

I went to see this movie today. It was different from what I expected, but not in a bad way. I saw that it had elements of magic/superhero-related stuff, with elements of being a crime drama. I enjoyed it, although I saw a few flaws in it.

I'd like to check it out, but it's not playing in my area. Might have to wait for Redbox.
I do recall WWE had Dule Hill (guy from Psyche) in the front row of a recent Raw and the commentators talked about the flick for a couple of minutes.
