Thing is in the actual MK game series there is no one protaganist like Ryu, Kyo or Terry Bogard. Who is the main hero of Mortal Kombat?
Is it Liu Kang - Yes: Standard Hero's journey serious warrior, beat Shang Tsung and Goro - No: He keeps dying getting killed Is it Johnny Cage - Yes: Survives and is popular - No: He is mostly comic relief except in X where he had moment of greatness against Shinnok. Is it Scorpion - Yes: Ridiculously popular and cool - No: He's either a lackey to Quan Chi, an antagonist to Quan Chi/Sub-zero on his own path or never saved the day himself. Is it Raiden - Yes: Always involved in the outcome, figured out eventually how to stop Shao Kahn - No: He's a god and supposedly can't interfere (doesn't seem to stop him getting involved) makes mistakes and he made a hell of a mess with the Shinnok thing.
It can't be Sub-Zero, Sonya, Kung Lao or Jax as they keep getting beaten, killed or turned into robots. No one else is applicable as they are either side characters or villains.

Well, as of X's story, Cassie Cage seems to be filling that role.

I got this movie for Easter one year and I still love this movie. It's cheesetastic, but I thought it all made sense. Plus, Kano was awesome in the movie and I enjoyed the Johnny Cage/Goro fight.

I remember going to pieces when I found out that this was actually coming out. I bought the movie novelization and everything. I loved it when I initially watched it and wore out the VHS copy I owned when I finally got that. I still watch it from time. It's not a great movie, the CGI is f***ing atrocious, but it's so much fun to watch. It's still easily the best video game movie, in my opinion.
Also, when Johnny Cage busted out the "This is the part where you fall down" to Goro, it almost caused me to go into shock from how cool it was to my 10-year-old eyes and ears.

I can't think of any better videogame movie. A lot of people would say Silent Hill, but I thought that was hot garbage.

Such a fun movie. It's still one of my favorites to this day.
All the characters were great in it. Liu Kang, Sonya, Johnny Cage, Raiden, Shang Tsung, Kitana, and so on.

No matter what, we should all be able to agree that of the late 90's video game adaptions, Double Dragon was the worst. Mainly because it does not have a Raul Julia/Dennis Hopper to chew scenery. It just has the T-1000.

Not that Double Dragon isn't painfully awful (it is), but the fact that it was made in the early-'90s. Which was the Mortal Kombat series with Jeri Ryan? Mortal Kombat: Legacy.

Thinking about the various video game adaptations in movie form out there...having never played the games, how yay or nay was the first Tomb Raider movie? I enjoyed the movie the one time I watched it, but that was a while back.

The second one was terrible, but I thought the first one way okay. Not exactly good, but a decent enough time killer.

And the Tomb Raider game that was released around the second movie was also garbage so it was a super accurate adaption. You know, in that they were both shit.
