I just don't see too many commercials that try to sell you things with humor anymore, and that makes me sad.

Nothing tops the Snickers commercial where the quarterback gets crushed and the medical staff asks him how many fingers they're holding up, where he's at, etc. He gets them all correct, then they ask him who he is or his name or something, and he gets really serious and says, "I'm Batman!"

Sadly commercials now tend to be more in the stupid range than anything else. Yeah sometimes they attempt humor but in the end they are stupid. There is Sonic with the two buffoons in the car, Progressive, Burger King, Liberty Mutual, Dr Pepper and Larry the concession guy, KFC complete with fake Colonel Sanders, and many more that I do not have the time to list.

Commercials that at one time were funny have now gotten to the level of stupid. Case in point Geico originally had some pretty funny stuff like the dog laughing at his owner's insurance bill, a man going into a water hazard to retrieve his golf ball, and the squirrel who runs in front of a car to wreck it. Now though their commercials have gotten more on the stupid side and less on the funny. Let's see there was the cavemen, Peter Pan, the gecko screaming because he has a flat tire, the bumper stickers, the clock, the Gecko going from Tennessee to Virginia over and over, the list goes on and on. They still occasionally can do something funny here and there but it is far and few between.

Also it does not help that commercials sometimes will be shown for years non-stop. Look at how long the commercial with ...Brad stayed on television. The previously mentioned flat tire commercial for Geico was on this year but originally came out in 2014. Even commercials that were at one point funny you get sick of after you have seen them so many times. I thought the State Farm commercial where the girl gets a new car and a man finds his sitting up on blocks was pretty good at first. Now though it has been on over a year and I hate it.
