These ideas aren't half-bad. But.... Ambrose and AJ would wreak havoc, becoming WWE's version of Bonnie and Clyde (or Mickey and Mallory, to use a less-dated analogy). Man, referencing a lesser known cult film from 23 years ago does not make things less dated. I was gonna say, I know who Bonnie and Clyde are. I had to google Mickey and Mallory.

I figure many WWE writers pitch shit because they think it's the kind of thing Vince is going to like. When that writer on Smackdown actually put some thought into his work using storyboards, didn't they mock him for it at WWE? Why bother putting effort into the writing when doing so probably works against them? That was Chris Kreski in 1999-2000, the guy who took the head writer role after Vince Russo left. His run in that position basically helped lead to a second wind for the Attitude Era. Didn't Chris pass away, sadly? It's a shame he never got work with another promotion.

He was still with WWE until 2002, but since he wasn't the head guy in the writing room anymore, he had little influence over the direction of TV. (Surprisingly, given his strength in the head writer role, Kreski wasn't actually a wrestling guy. He was a writer for a bunch of MTV shows dating back to the late 1980s)

Didn't Kreski bring professionalism to it all, in terms of creative writing, having boards to keep track of continuity for the characters to make their interactions actually make sense... and get mocked for it? I can't believe they pushed that guy aside to make way for Stephanie who never really showed any talent for the job, given how everything just stagnated.

Vince hating the heritage aspect of losing the mask seems to be a reoccurring thing for him. In Jericho's book, he talked about in his pitch to Vince for his mask feud with Mysterio how important masks are in Mexican culture and Vince saying basically who gives a shit and it wasn't until Jericho pitched it more as a bullying type angle that Vince got into it and gave the go ahead.

I have to say, FAN, I'm rather surprised you've let Vince off fairly lightly for the Bellas/Kaitlyn line. Big tits and skinny is pretty much Vince's kink. It sucks, but it's not surprising he'd find muscular chicks like Kaityln more unattractive than say, Kell.y Kelly or skinny twins. I always thought muscles in general was Vince main fetish. I would've thought Kaitlyn would have been his ultimate woman.

Getting back to Chris Kreski the WWE really lost popularity the moment he left.

McMahon, who had made it clear on several occasions he did not find Kaitlyn's muscular physique all that attractive, replied (and I'm paraphrasing): "If one of the Bellas showed interest in Cody, why would he ever look at Kaitlyn again?" I know I'm in the minority with this but Kaitlyn is WAY hotter than the bellas I just find the Bellas too generic That aside, Those ideas are poor

Dude died so soon after leaving WWE, and presumably had quit public life some time before that due to the cancer battle he eventually sadly lost, so there is very little information from him about his WWE tenure. Even THIS story about being mocked for storyboarding his angles is something I can't really find a source for, so it might have just snowballed into something that's accepted as fact because... well, because it's WWE, of course they'd do something like that, right?

The idea of skipping AJ and Ambrose doing his poor Heath Ledger Joker impersonator thing as an on-screen couple would have made me quit WWE a lot sooner than I did.

1. All these ideas sound very ill-advised, yet still somehow LESS dated/corny that 90% of what WWE has done since then.
2. WWE leans WAY too heavily on romance angles. They're almost never value-added to a storyline or just flat out suck and seem like they were written in 1993.
3. The Ambrose/AJ thing - it would have been better if AJ was written off for a bit as being forced to take time off - like some kind of suspension for something. Then coming back with Paige as an apprentice of hers. As long as it was platonic.
