Resident Evil Code Veronica X comes to PS4 this week

PlayStation 4's library of PS2 Classics is getting another addition this week with the arrival of Resident Evil -- Code: Veronica X.

Capcom shared the news in a post on the official Resident Evil Twitter account, confirming the game will be available as a PS2 Classics title next week on May 9 in North America and May 10 for those in Europe.

Resident Evil -- Code: Veronica X is an updated version of the Dreamcast original and tells the story of Claire Redfield's search for her brother three months after the events of Resident Evil 2. This enhanced version, which released for PS2 in 2001, features an additional nine minutes of cutscenes and a few graphical tweaks.

Code Veronica's interesting because its a bit of the odd game out for the series and doesn't exactly fit into either the classic Raccoon City survival horror era (0-3, REmake) nor the more action orient direction the series took after this (4-6). The different locations, distinct playable character ratio (half Claire, half Chris), and other aesthetic choices more or less place it in its own category of being a tank control Resident Evil game that lacks the similar terror elements of the titles that proceeded it.

I had this when I was younger... I actually probably still have the physical copy at the back of my pile of games.

I never got into it though. I hit a dead end at some point (I don't think I was very far into the game) and couldn't be bothered to figure out how to advance.

Definitely will be getting this. One of my favourite ps2 experiences was playing this.

Kinda disappointed it's not the hd remaster. Never got a chance to play that version.

I got halfway through that game on Dreamcast and then my save got corrupted. I was so pissed I never played it again.
