I think it's been almost two years since I last did one of those, crazy. Anyway, yeah, ask me anything, whether it is related to my Frenchness or not.

How are you getting on with your writing? Not sure what you mean. Are you talking about the script I was working on? If so, it's finished and I am currently in the process of drawing a rough draft of the comic, slowly but steadily. I've kind of been taken up by more pressing issues lately, though (but I do try to draw at least a little every day).

That's cool that the comic is taking shape though! It's the same characters from the short story right?

Do the French and Belgians have a friendly rivalry? Of course we do. I mean, we're neighbouring countries that speak the same language. What else are we gonna do all day other than take potshots at one-another? Honestly though, the atmosphere between the two countries is usually positive. Interestingly, it kind of ties into comics as well since France and Belgium have a much bigger comic book industry and culture than the rest of Europe (to the point that European comics are often referred to as French-Belgian comics) and asa result, you often have French and Belgian artists and writers working together on the same projects, published by the same companies, etc.

I think he speaks German, too, just not as well, does seem like being multi-lingual has some major benefits.

Speaking of French comics how popular is Asterix in 2017. Still pretty dang popular. I mean, they don't release new books nearly as often as they used to, what with the death of the original writer and the original artist no longer being able to draw due to health issues, but the series does go on with a new artist and writer, though it's always tough for new people to convince the crowd as in Europe, it's extremely rare for a comic series to be passed on to other artists. Most of the time, even with a massively successful franchise, it dies with its creator (for example, no-one took up the candle for Tintin despite that being a worldwide success). There are exceptions but they are very rare and I can think of only maybe one or two that got the public's approval afterwards. That said, they have been releasing new albums a bit more frequently since the new guys took over so it looks like the series still has a bright future ahead of itself and when it comes to cartoons, movies and stuff like that, those always make big bucks even when they're critical failures. Are you going to vote Le Pen? Not gonna answer that one due to the "no politics" rule. Sorry. Have you ever had French fries? Of course I have. What do you take me for, some kind of freak? Will you return to your movie experiment? Yes... eventually. What's your favorite place in France? Hm, good question. I actually quite enjoy where I live (Strasbourg) but as far as visiting... I know that may seem weird because it's not what people think of at all when they think of France, but probably Martinique (in the French West Indies). Tropical weather, gorgeous beaches that look as good as on the postcards, lush forests, friendly and welcoming people, lots of history, shitloads of rum... what's not to like? That's not a question, professor. Where are you at on watermelon with taco seasoning? Heh, I don't know, I think wasabi goes better with it and also what in all the Gods' names is wrong with you?

Ok, knock down drag out steel cage match, the Looney Toons Taz vs. the Muppets' Animal, who wins? And show your work! None of this asking a 3rd party nonsense, this is important stuff we're talking about!

Favorite French language song? Hm, good question, especially since I'm the type of guy where you could ask me that every day and get a different answer everyday. Would you consider slam poetry singing? If so, probably "Le Jour se Lève" by Grand Corps Malade. Have you seen my favorite French / Czech animated movie Fantastic Planet? Any opinions on it if you have? Sorry, I haven't. Ok, knock down drag out steel cage match, the Looney Toons Taz vs. the Muppets' Animal, who wins? And show your work! None of this asking a 3rd party nonsense, this is important stuff we're talking about! Probably Taz because it never seemed like anything could stop him, he just drilled through everything so he'd probably drill through the cage, beat the tar out of Animal, then drag him out. Also, I didn't actually watch the muppets as a kid so Taz is the only one of the two I'm really familiar with. Plus, from what little I know about Animal, he'd probably not understand the rules and just be swinging things around the whole match.
