Runaway Train is a pretty good movie. And not "so bad it's good" either.

What movies, and how much did you end up paying? The final bid I put up $8, just a dollar more than the previous bidder. Anyway, here are the movies: - Murphy's Law
- Kinjite: Forbidden Subjects
- 10 to Midnight
- Messenger of Death
I'd pay eight bucks for "10 to Midnight" by itself. There's a podcast called Junkfood Cinema that did a neat review of it. I think I've seem "Kinjite" and I'm pretty sure it was terrible. The other two I don't recall... but good buy on 10tM.

Their films were generally shit, but that was their business model. Buying awful scripts no one else wanted.
I think Sony fill that niche now.

But I will give Invasion and Runaway Train a try. Oh and, yeah, big yeah on Mathilda May.

Death Wish 2-4 you can get on blu-ray. Death Wish was released limited to 30000 copies by Twilight Time and is now sold out. But copies remain for Runaway Train. I've, uh, been researching.

I kind of consider them a lower-budget version of Carolco (of course, both companies ended up flaming out). I actually got them mixed up before( along with Orion), so I wondered why people were calling them a trashy studio. lol The studios popular through the 80s kind of blend together.

They're always on TV over here and while they're not on Blu Ray there's a box set with them in for around £15 Runaway Train has an Arrow Blu Ray release, And it's damn good

Blimey the US version of Lifeforce was shite. Glad they restored the UK version for the Blu-Ray.

Unfortunately, those of us stateside are more limited unless you have an all region and can afford international shipping. Not a dis, mind, just a grumble.

Of course they made shit, but people look at it through rose colored glasses because it reminds them of a time before everybody became too cool to enjoy stuff like this on a pure level, and not "ironically." So when people just thought that shit was just shit? 1. One person's "shit" is another's "Cult Classic." 2. Even if the people that were watching at the time knew it was shit, they just kind of left it at that. There wasn't this need to put things that were less than perfect up on the cross and nerd nitpick them to death the way there is now. It's kind of like Uwe Boll. I don't get why the guy is so hated by a lot of people. So he made shitty movies. So he was defiant about that. Who cares? If you don't like his movies, don't watch them. There was no need to basically hound the dude until he stopped doing what he loved to do. This is why the only people today that are allowed to make glorious cheese like Cannon would most sincerely back in the day, are people who make cheesy shit "ironically." Like SHARKNADO and the like. Which, is fine, but it's just not the same as trying to make a good movie, but having it be cheesy or "shitty." Back in the day, if someone made a shitty movie, we just said, "Wow....that was shitty." at the end, and just took it back to the video store or whatever. 3. And once again, who cares if Cannon made shit? Sometimes you're in the mood for shit. It's kind of like when you're hungry; sometimes you want a well crafted steak at a fancy restaurant, but sometimes...sometimes there's nothing that hits the spot better than some sloppy ass burger at Rally's/Checker's, that you know isn't the best, but it's cheap, and it can be surprisingly yummy for the low quality food it took to make it. Especially if you have a few beers (or whatever) in you, and you're hungry for a nice, sloppy burger....it hits the spot. Cannon was basically that, and God Bless them for it.
